  1. Yellow Contamination Noz Check

That yellow nozzle check does not look healthy. Check that the pump is pulling through properly as the small outlet pipes below the cap can block especially at the small double connector. Possibly the cap top is touching the printhead which causes wicking and cross contaminates the prints...
  2. Printing Issues with 3M SV480mC Wrap Material

That's faulty material as the marks are not uniform in position. I have found that 3M have maybe altered this material at least 3 times now. I also had a fault in my material on a 5 Metre longo print 3M wanted to replace only the 0.5 Metre that the fault appeared! The 480 material has a coating...
  3. Can’t get solid colors

Purple, Dark Green, Burgundy, Grey & Red are the most difficult colours to hit especially with a machine that only has 4 colours. I find printing in the highest quality available normally gives me good on all of the above. If it doesn't it just isn't possible. SC
  4. Large Files within Signlab program files.

I was about to upgrade my PC to Windows 10 and was going to copy the Cadlink folders onto another storage, just in case of failure. But I have found 3off files with a huge size within the Signlab folder. They are called:- Embedded2464 Embedded2512 Embedded3856 Embedded4028 They all have a...
  5. Ink pump

I had a pump early in the year that had just melted. It had only been in the machine a month. I think something had been missed when the plastics had been made as it was if it was not for a solvent machine. SC

  7. Does this look adequate???

Looks good to me. I fitted a sign many years ago which was 32' x 8' Aluminium on rails with five 8" galvanised posts in 5' concrete with frame reinforcement. It was fitted on top of a hill in the worst weather you can imagine gales, pouring rain, etc. Got a phone call the falling morning that...

  10. Looking for a new printer....need your opinions

Just scrapped an old JV3 I had in storage for if my Mutoh died. I'm currently thinking about just staying with Mutoh. As after 12 years of ownership and only one head change it has been a brick with only minimal maintenance and still prints as good as the day I bought it. My ex-boss upgraded to...

  13. Question Strange Cyan lines when printing yellow with Flexi

I don't think that is a software or RIP issue. Could be a head cable or head going bad.

    Stick to your original price.
  15. Need Help Mutoh 1624 Creating weird color bands

Either a dying head or cabling or an encoder issue. If it appears in the same position all the time, it's an encoder issue. SC
  16. Question Nozzle Check Issue from a Newbie

Remove plastic cover on the head and remove the bar with two screws that the dampers are held in with. The dampers simply lever out (be careful not to damge the input nipples on the head. Simply unscrew the line by hand and refit with new seals. Pull ink through with a syringe to half fill...
  17. Touching guide plates

I have managed to file about 1mm of the raised part of the guide plate and this has solved the issue. Too scared to print without guide plates... I am going to have to replace all the head carriage bearings, which is probably over due as the printer is now 12 years old!!! Just imagine how many...
  18. Touching guide plates

Their is a metal strip to the left of the print head. It is definitley hitting this on the way back. I am a bit concerned about removing the guide plates, if the material has a high spot at the end will this cause a crash?!!!! Would it be an idea to sand a little of the height of the guide...
