  1. digital print under epoxy floor

I have a customer that make epoxy floor asking me to make some prints that will be installed on a floor then poured epoxy over it. I know I've saw this subject somewhere here but cannot find it anymore. Maybe I use the wrong keywords. The prints will have overlap/butt joint to cover almost...

  3. Omega 6.0, edge II communication problem

So I have omega 6.0 with a gerber edge II. I'm trying to make a print and I have a communication error message. I run it on windows 11 and using a usb to parallel adaptor. Last time I use the setup (around a year ago) I was running this setup on a windows 8 machine without any problem. I've...
  4. UV or Latex---which last longer?

I do prints on ACM for information in regional parks (history of the place with pictures). I've tried uv flatbed and latex and some signs are there for a bit less than 10 years now. UV print is a lot faster and cost less. But I've tries many finish like clear coat (multiple layer), film...

  6. Suggestions looking for new grommet machine

I'm wondering the same thing. I had the impression it was easier to use it few years back. Maybe it has something to do with the die or the grommets? Not sure.
  7. Suggestions looking for new grommet machine

Right now I'm using a manual grommet machine. It's great but after a while it start to be hard on the arm. We do not make alot of banners but sometime we got jobs that require doing grommets a whole day. So what is the next step after a manual machine? I would like to figure if the expense could...
  8. Measurement App

I'm using imagemeter pro too for few years now. Alot better than paper because I can send the files to my designer right away. Plus, if you have a laser ruler with bluetooh, it can send the measurement to the app directly.
  9. Need Help Help Needed

I have de D160R, so basically the same machine. It look like your blade is not turning well in the holder. remove the blade holder and take off the blade. Blow some air because it could have some debris in the blade holder. Reassemble everything, adjust the blade length correctly and try again...
  10. 700w alternatives ?

I have my 700w since January 2022 and did not had any real problems other than maintenance. My last printer was a L260. We use the white ink alot but sometime we could be up to 2 weeks without using it. So the printhead storage is a good thing for us.
  11. Summa D160R and Caldera barcode

Is there a setting in either the cutter or caldera to set the distance between the cutline and barcode? For some reason, when I have a print and cut, in some case a part of the bar code will go in the cutline section. So when I weed it, I see a small part of the barcode that went in the design...
  12. Need recommendation for entry level flatbed cutter

I was looking at colex for flatbed cutter. I can't afford it for now. Is there other options less expensive and compatible with caldera rip? I want to either buy a less expensive model or wait 2-3 years to buy a colex (or similar).
  13. Suggestions how to cut 50 pieces of vinyl effectively

wow! That's like a manual fotoba. Very interesting and I could use this daily. I will contact them to get more information. It will be probably too late for this job, but I'm interested. Thank you.
  14. Suggestions how to cut 50 pieces of vinyl effectively

I have a 48in wide roll to textured frosted vinyl that need to be cut in piece of 48inX24in. I can't slit the roll because the pattern of the material is on the length of the roll. I don't have access to a machine like a fotoba and I think the texture is to roughs and thick to be cut with my...
  15. Question Laser Machine Newbie

I have a thunder laser since last november. I have the 63inX40in 130w. I use it mainly to cut and engrave acrylic to make signalizations in buildings. Price wise, it was 1/3 of trotec. From the test/demo I've made, yes trotec is better but not for that price difference. Plus, I have a local...
  16. Laserable transfer tape recommendation

No problem at all. Hit me up when you want. I prefer a single sheet than lot of strip since I will be making mostly smaller stuff. The reason why gemini put strip is because they want us to put silicone between the strip for extra strength. I never did it and never got a problem.
  17. Laserable transfer tape recommendation

And what do you use for thicker or foam tape that would be also available in 48in?
  18. Laserable transfer tape recommendation

I've asked Gemini and they told me they are using orabond 3594. But If I check the specifications, it has a red liner. The letters I've ordered in the past all had white paper liner with blue oracal logo on it. Maybe it's because I'm in Canada? I've bought a thunder laser in December. It's a...
  19. Laserable transfer tape recommendation

I've found their website to see the specifications. From the information there, it seems their tapes are not available over 2in wide. Is it because it would be a special order? Is it something that you have experience with with for the specification I'm looking for?
  20. Laserable transfer tape recommendation

I'm making acrylic signs using my laser. Right now, I'm using VHB tape but I'm looking for something I could install on the sheet of acrylic and cut everything with the laser. It will be mostly for small sign like 6inX6in but it could be 1/2 thick acrylic sometime. If I could use this same...
