  1. ?'s on installation of several 12' x 4' panels of WallDeco 6730 on painted drywall

I'll have a helper, and some ladders... so I'm sure i can do this... but there are 20 panels, some with seams more critical than others. I've installed prints this size on a table, but never on a wall... and now i get to learn by installing 20 of them at the mall, on a nightshift. I've...
  2. Designer Dan Cassaro speaks out against design contests

6 months old, so maybe it's been posted before, but search came up with nothing... so thought a lot of folks here would find it interesting, especially considering the financial wherewithal of the perp...
  3. Can I get a .125 radius on the edge of a part?

if the part is just an oval, and by radius on the edge you mean a roundover, then you can get a roundover bit that theoretically could produce a part like this. By "theoretically" I mean I'm sure that it could be done in several woods, or a number of other plastics... but how well your plastic...
  4. L25500 - bleeding all over the floor... anyone seen this before?

New image comes to light... Shedding yet another point of view
  5. L25500 - bleeding all over the floor... anyone seen this before?

a little more info on this "bleeding” I mentioned... although it is blood colored, it is watery & cleans easily with a damp paper towel... which is why the "condensation" comment didn't get shot down instantly, by exclaiming that it was ink.. It's not ink... although I assumed it might have some...
  6. L25500 - bleeding all over the floor... anyone seen this before?

Thanks for the tip Jawdavis (& the comic relief Wayne) I couldn't tell you offhand if it wasn't done, since HP has been here over a dozen times trying to keep me printing on this POS I'd love to hear from owners who have NOT had this problem too... just curious if a lot of guys never see...
  7. L25500 - bleeding all over the floor... anyone seen this before?

Strangest thing is that I never saw a drop, for 3 years solid... and then all of a sudden, this blood colored ooze starts leaking out from below the printer on the right side... I showed a high level tech who was working on another matter that was escalated to the second tier technician...
  8. L25500 - ? how to disable, or opt out of printhead calibration??

thanks for the comment Wayne, and Tomence... Tomence, sorry to hear you have had the same hell I've had... I will give up a weekend someday & tell the story of this fiasco that has done it's best to put me out of business when I happened to buy it in the most financially challenging moment...
  9. L25500 - ? how to disable, or opt out of printhead calibration??

Still want to mention that I was printing 36" prints on a 10 yard roll... Getting 9 prints leaves me with over 2' (after waste on leading edge)... So in this case, I could afford to cut media & still have enough to print my last yard even with waste on leading edge, as well as risk of "media...
  10. L25500 - ? how to disable, or opt out of printhead calibration??

Yes, perhaps when printer first said "C/LC printhead is expired" I could have swapped media then, had I thought of it. Then again, I don't know that it would have let me given the usual craziness... but I will certainly try that next time!
  11. L25500 - ? how to disable, or opt out of printhead calibration??

So, two people are saying "unload importent media, & load scrap for calibration" How is my question? In this case, I was fine skipping calibration, but would have been happy just to postpone it to swap media... So how do other people do that? I wasn't asked if I wanted to calibrate...
  12. What do you use to manage and track everyday jobs?

feels like there's a bunch of annoying flies in here
  13. L25500 - ? how to disable, or opt out of printhead calibration??

I had 2 prints left out of 54 large reflective decals which was exactly how much printable reflective vinyl I had on hand... a few minutes to spare before leaving for an appointment, and a printhead to change... No problem, changed the printhead in seconds.. and then it want's to do a...
  14. Pros and cons

some things are better than others... for some things... ...other things might be better for other things.. ...we don't have half a clue about any context that the pros & cons would be applicable to in your case
  15. RIP Steve Shortreed

if Steve and Letterville are not entirely responsible... my experiences on Steve's site were certainly the gateway drug that led me to everyone I ever met here! He has played a significant role in the trajectory of my career over many of the earlier years of my creative evolution! RIP Steve!
  16. One of our customers.....................................

there's a great article floating around the web, about the guy who put Santa's tracking info on NORAD ..I forget the story (since just last month :omg:) but remember it was interesting!
  17. First Signs

should be in the $2 - $3K range in my opinion, but I also don't hand letter, so maybe that's too low... I agree that this is awesome for a first time, and also agree that the green/black combo blurs together into illegible shapes, so I think you should consider fixing it. Maybe set it up...
  18. painting on glass (waterfall)

or maybe chemically etching the original glass surface with a vinyl stencil & the acid paste or whatever people use... probably the cheapest idea, plus you might be able to get a good enamel paint to stick to the etched surface for a more dramatic contrast
  19. painting on glass (waterfall)

I can imagine he doesn't want it sandblasted because sandblasting an "existing" piece of glass would be expensive, even if it wasn't already installed into a water feature... ...but what about a custom cut logo "panel" out of acrylic, with a routed logo, bonded to the glass surface? ..or even...
  20. Out of practice...

naaah... I think it was strategically controlled mediocrity that he had to adhere to... the worst to me, is the secondary info on the back! Yellow perf with the 911 name on top would be my first grievance if a client made me do this Nice job on the time lapse ucmj22 Can i do that standard...
