I have printed on 2ml and 3ml vinyl on my solvent and never any problems. I might say that the backing paper is thinner and you may get the odd head strike unless you latch them up. I have a fleet of taxis I do, and they have a yellow and black checker board stripe along the sides. I tried...
I think the main difference between 3ml and wall material is that the wall material is thicker and goes over the surface better not showing the texture of the painted wall...it also has removable adhesive I believe.. Regular vinyl when caught in a glare looks like bubble hell

Why bother with kitty litter which makes more waste...how about just spreading it all in your dumpster and allow all the discarded backing paper , ruined prints and premask and coro bits absorb it..... I don't do that but curious as why we shouldn't as over a few days it will basically...
I had a quart of this stuff and never used it, then a few weeks ago I get this cab in to retrofit the graphics to a new company and the decals on the doors were clear mylar..OMG that stuff just breaks up and heat gun or steamer hardly did a thing. I decided to try this vinyl off and I am not...
The good thing about doing work for larger companies is that it is real work for purchasing to set you up as a vendor... Nobody wants to do more work than is necessary, so if the work you do for them keeps them happy, they have no reason or want to look around and have to reset up new vendors...
A transformer blew up yesterday across the street from us and 500 businesses were powerless for over 3 hours. When the power came back my print comp had an issue with windows and would not start up. 6 months ago I had all the hard drives cloned and keep them for just this reason. swapped out...
It's one of those services whereby you can't give them a real price until the job is done... Customers will assume you are adding time when it takes 8 hours legit. I personally hate removing vehicle graphics...even at $80 per hour I can be making more money designing / printing or cutting...and...
I had the same problem twice over a 1 year period. I can't really recall but the third time i called them and told them that something has to be done. They told me that there are some pins in there that get sheared and stop the gears from turning. You can weld the gear in 2 spots with a mig...
Is optically clear overlam as long lasting as regular 2ml overlam?
I ask as I bought a Avery bundle and this is the lam it came with. I always thought optically clear was much more expensive than regular 2ml overlam. Can I use it on regular decals for vehicles?
Yes that pantone is the colours I chose using one of those charts uploaded here years ago. I can't figure out why it has them as rgb...I manually went through all the different logos and changed the colours...Then when I went to print it somehow groups all the transparencies together so if you...
I have matched some colours and there were 2 greys in the logo. I found after multiple tests that I could get the colour correct if I used a 90% transparency in both colours.
I saved my samples and now I am setting up the files for print. What I do is set up a colour bar for all the colours...
I sent out a file to print that had 10 large decals on it. I thought I had enough material but ran out. I got 8- 2 up of the decals and lost 2. They were printed on avery wrap material so I don't feel like reprinting and tossing these. Trying to eliminate hand cutting these.
Normally I would...
Burned myself this morning...
A customer brings me 2 4x4 composite aluminum panels and I cut 1 colour vinyl for a directory board. I used the laminator to apply it and then I am removing the premask and the graphics are lifting right off. On close examination I see that this composite aluminum...
Yea I think the main concern is that shrinkage...but I also find that Avery seems to print the best on my machine and the profile I use seems to hit the colour very well.
