  1. Edge not responding to print command

How is the edge connected to the computer? Are you using the same cables as the previous owner? And I don't just mean the same type of cables. When you go to GQMgr and right click on the printer and click on properties, then click on info - does the window pop-up say that it's online when...
  2. Gerber VS Summa

You mention large production volumes, so maybe have a look at Matan? http://www.matanprinters.com/Group.asp?PiD=0.3&id=10
  3. Help thief!!!!!

It'd be pretty labour intensive, but you could manually "rewind" the foils to see what's been printed.
  4. Help me, please.

    Thankyou!
  5. Help me, please.

I know I've seen it a million times, but right now I'm all hooped up on Aleve and can't think straight. Thanks in advance. Chris
  6. Ayrton Senna s birthday

Check out the movie (documentary) "Senna". It's on Netflix.
  7. What brand and colour matches pms 873c

According to Gerber ColorID, a Tan foil on Spectrashade foil will give you Pantone 873 C. Gerber Quantum 4000 Gold is *close* too (can you even buy that anymore) ?
  8. Substrate pricing

You should rethink this strategy. If not, you'll be leaving a lot of money on the table.

  10. here are some business card fronts for you to unleash your wrath on

Those fonts don't really convey "Mayhem" to me. Would try something a little more hectic. Maybe something along these lines? http://www.dafont.com/nervous.font?text=MAYHEM http://www.dafont.com/sea-turtle.font?text=MAYHEM
  11. Bear Head

    Anyone recognize this guy? TIA
  12. Making Stencils using Plotter?

Is that 15" punched? How small can you cut the letters? I've got a customer looking for 0.25" letter height for some MilSpec stuff.
  13. Estimate Software LOCKED!!

Back when I first started 12 years ago, a buddy and I put together a little program using visual basic. Use it every day. We input the size and quantity of decals, then choose the materials and foils, premask, and/or over laminates. Plunk in the time we think it will take for setup and...
  14. Anyone here in Glasgow (or nearby)?

I'm going to be headed there next week for the World Pipe Band Championships, and might need something done.... it mostly depends on how the airlines treats our drums this time 'round.
  15. Which plotter would you choose and Why?

Summa. Customer service is second to none. Very few complaints about the machines here on the boards... but maybe that's just because they're less common?
  16. Major Edge FX Problem

... OR you could just try adjusting the print setting to "light" or "lighter" in GSPplot under: Print Options (F11) > Settings ... seeing as how it's just for a few particular foils.
  17. Major Edge FX Problem

I've got the LE, and the only time something like this happened to me was when I replaced the power supply. Turns out there's an adjustment on the power supply that regulates the voltage to the printhead. It was set too high, and the printhead would either fuse the foil to the vinyl, or "melt"...
  18. Edge 2 Diagnosis and Repair

Keep it for parts? I'm pretty sure most of the hardware is interchangeable between the two. Knowing that the power supply alone is ~ $1000 from Gerber, it might be worth holding onto.
  19. Gerber Announces Discontinuation of all Flatbed Printers

    From the horse's mouth: http://gerberscientific.com/press_room/releases/pr-041211.htm
  20. Ran out of foil in a big print job

On longer runs, I always start the vinyl at the "home" position. That way, if something like this happens (although with all my foils having GerberGauge, it rarely does) I just hit reset. I count how many repeats have been done, adjust the number in GSPPlot, rewind the vinyl to the beginning...
