  1. reflective decals that somehow are not that visible on police cars

You're waaay overthinking it. I'm fairly certain it's just white reflective vinyl on white cars and Black reflective vinyl on the black/dark blue cars. What detachment in particular are you using as your reference? I know for a fact the OPP is just 3M black reflective. Looks like Toronto...

  3. Omega 2.61 Jagged JPEG Exports

Bill, it becomes even more of an issue when you have small text incorporated into the design. Small text comes out looking great, but the customers logo looks "jagged". Try getting them to sign off on that. Attached is an example.
  4. Omega 2.61 Jagged JPEG Exports

I'm sometimes reluctant to send pdf files to clients - in that pdf "proof" = free vector artwork to send off to competitors. In the "export" window that pops up in OMEGA, there's an options button... but I click on it, and it does nothing. I find that exporting, and then scaling the image...

  6. Wrap Certifications. Is it worth it?

Thirteen years in business and I have had exactly ONE potential client ask if I was 3M certified. Didn't bother me to say "no".
  7. Gerber Edge 2 Print Issue - Partial Head Drop?

I replaced one a couple of years ago on my EDGE LE. The "hardest" part was fishing the connector through from the back of the print head (top of the machine) into its proper position... tiny hands would have probably helped. I found that removing the dancer bar and foil squeegee helped make some...

  11. Are you voting?

Did I just hear CNN correctly? Polls are still open in certain areas? That's crazy. How can you start posting results while polls are still open!??!
  12. Anyone seen a source for this "tribal" looking fish?

I guess I'm still in Monday morning mode, and hadn't even thought of googling "tribal fish" (assuming that's what you did). I did try Tin-Eye, though. Chris

  15. Sony's time line on office wall

"Roughly 6 months from the very first meeting to putting up. Roughly 1 month planning meetings etc, 2 months straight setting the type design time. Roughly 1 month production, a little holiday, one weekend install and then 2 weeks to edit the video's and photography." Ouch
  16. Recognize this one?

    Thank you very much, Fred!
  17. Recognize this one?

Does anyone recognize the font used for "Hailey Funk" ? It's a friend of my wife's, and she did a really great photo session for us - for free - to try out a new lens. I'd like to surprise her with some labels for her packaging, and am therefore a little reluctant to ask her upfront for the...
  18. complex file...not sure I should even attempt it

I used to burn through a lot of materials (and time) too, when trying to figure out complicated jobs, and then one day stumbled upon "GSP Spool File Viewer". I find it particularly helpful to confirm that overprints have been applied properly in OMEGA, and that I've checked off the correct...
  19. Reflective

3M 680CR is pretty awesome stuff, cuts and weeds nicely. It should be really hard (as in - you'd actually be having to be trying) to trap air bubbles underneath.
