  1. "6 Year Warranty on Wrap"

A "warranty" is only as good as the person or shop giving it. 3M, Avery, Oracal etc. I don't believe have an actual "warranty" more like "expected lifespan". If the wrap you install only last 3 years, those companies will pretty much tell you tough cookies, and blame whatever the issue(s) is...
  2. Best cutting ruler? NOT ALUMINUM!

The Sooper Edge Rulers are what we use here. Yes, they are aluminum, but the cutting edge is stainless steel and well worth the money. https://www.uscutter.com/Sooper-Edge-Aluminum-Ruler
  3. Grease on Mutoh??

Mutoh states that a monthly PM is considered normal maintenance on any VJ printer. Anyone who owns a VJ printer should do this if you want your printer to continue printing the way it should. We clean all the grease from the rails using a rag or cloth with a little bit of alchol on it. Then...
  4. Taking delivery of our new Summa F1612 next week, what else should I know?

Hmm, hadn't thought of that. Have you had problems or issues because of this? Can you tell me what kind of surge suppressor you are using? Thanks!
  5. Taking delivery of our new Summa F1612 next week, what else should I know?

Unit was delivered today! We got it off the truck, unpacked and placed in the shop without any issues. Just waiting on the technician to get it all installed next week. Looking forward to seeing what this thing will do! 1612 by FatCat posted Nov 5, 2019 at 4:32 PM

  7. Taking delivery of our new Summa F1612 next week, what else should I know?

Yup, that was my thoughts exactly. I can't justify dropping $100-150k on a Zund or Esko - just not in the cards...maybe someday, just wanting to be a little better off than we were without having to settle for a 10 year old used machine with a million hours on it...
  8. Taking delivery of our new Summa F1612 next week, what else should I know?

Sorry to hear you don't like SummaFlex - as I mentioned above the new GoProduce software is what should be coming with our machine. Also, I did get the ADC installed which will automatically set the cut depth for whatever tool we use, which should speed setup along even further. I realize we...
  9. Taking delivery of our new Summa F1612 next week, what else should I know?

Yes, I am pretty certain we are getting the GoProduce software. (Our rep had mentioned that the software had all the tools dialed in for the types of materials being cut, and already had suggested speeds and feed rates built in.) No safety beams - just didn't think they were necessary and plus...
  10. Mactac b-free dusted by the yard

Fellers and several other vendors carry a short roll (75ft) if I recall....I know, not 3 yards, but...
  11. Taking delivery of our new Summa F1612 next week, what else should I know?

We already have a standard 4x8 CNC router and plan to keep the more difficult to cut materials on it. The summa will be more for softer sheet goods and roll stocks like posters and banners.
  12. Taking delivery of our new Summa F1612 next week, what else should I know?

Nobody willing to share anything on this? OK, how about help or assistance in regards to pricing work done with this machine. (And this can go for anyone with a cutting table like a Zund or Esko as well). How do you figure cost on cutting with this table, by the hour, per job, etc? Still not...
  13. Taking delivery of our new Summa F1612 next week, what else should I know?

As the title says, after looking for roughly 2 years for a cutting table I pulled the trigger and took advantage of the show special for the F1612 Phil Johnson listed here for Signs101 people. (Thank you Phil for all your help.) We have ours pretty well loaded, (kiss cut tool, double edge...
  14. Anyone know total square footage for the new Jeep Gladiator?

Yeah, the dealership came by late yesterday with the jeep. Looks like all kinds of fun, told the salesperson this isn't a paint job and must communicate that to the customer. Told him all the problem areas, told him limitations of a wrap, etc. Sending a quote over today - marking it high...
  15. Anyone know total square footage for the new Jeep Gladiator?

Have someone interested in doing a complete color change - just painted surfaces not plastic roof or fenders, etc. Thanks for any help on this.
  16. Mutoh Bulk System - Generic Ink Recommendations

Actually Premier Colour is a merchant member on here, that is who we buy our ink from directly. https://www.premiercolour.com/
  17. Mutoh Bulk System - Generic Ink Recommendations

Actually no - we tried STS for about 3-4 months and switched back to JetBest due to drying issues. STS may have reformulated their inks to address this problem, but I have no idea. At this time we still have ZERO issues with JetBest inks and will continue to use them in the future.
  18. Mutoh Bulk System - Generic Ink Recommendations

I personally prefer JetBest ink and have been a user for over 7 years. I tried STS, but had problems with it drying - haven't tried Bordeaux, but like I tell everyone considering switching to 3rd party ink - do your homework and talk to people who use it every day before you make up your mind...
  19. Need a material to stick to paver stones

We've used 3m IJ-8624 with good success on similar projects, but realize it will likely need replaced every few years...depending on wear and tear.
