  1. Suggestions Vinyl for Bare Sheetrock

Who is selling printed vinyl installed for $4.50 sq/ft?!?!
  2. Suggestions Vinyl for Bare Sheetrock

Covering a wall with vinyl is cheaper than painting it? Since when? I can see the benefit if you want to do a printed graphic that can't be done easily with paint, but it sounds like they want to use solid colour vinyl instead of paint.
  3. Question Table shear cutter for metals and plastics

we had a number of cheap second hand shears over the years, always had issues with not cutting square, inaccurate cuts etc. We bit the bullet and bought this 3001 it's been amazing, paid for itself multiple times over.
  4. Suggestions Re-creating channel letters for existing sign

can you hold up a piece of paper to the existing letter and do a pencil rubbing or something? I would think that would be the best way, then blow the dust off the old jigsaw and do it the old fashoned way
  5. What would you do....?

Right, so around $10 like i said, but who's counting.
  6. What would you do....?

It depends on how much you want to keep the client, on one hand he should know that magnets don't stick to aluminum, did he tell you the type of truck? I was under the impression that only the F150's were aluminum, I guess not. Offer to redo it in vinyl, ask if he has any steel work vehicles...
  7. HP Latex 360 Printer cost per square foot?

I'm of the opinion that if you need to know the exact cost of ink/ heads etc to price your jobs, you aren't charging even close to enough. The cost of these things are so irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.
  8. Rant Are you open on Saturday?

We used to be open from 9-12 on Saturdays, but like everyone else we just got tire kickers and tiny orders. We offer engraving at our shop and would get people coming in to get a pet tag or bracelet engraved, usually didn't make enough to pay the staff member who worked that day. If someone...
  9. Total Garbage!

why don't you download a trial copy of another program to get you back on your feet until you get this issue sorted out.
  10. Suggestions Material for 8 x60 ft banner

do you have experience installing something of that size? a banner that size needs something to keep it taught, that could be a banner frame system, or something like the sign spring system, either way there is more to it than screwing a banner to a wall.
  11. Banner tension frame..Kind of

We installed a sign comp banner tension frame at a clients location about 5 years ago that they change out seasonally, they reuse the banners over and over again. They are having issues now with the banners apparently not tensioning properly any more, I'm pretty sure it's the technique they are...

  13. Need Help Brushed Alum 6mm Dibond

Grimco up here in Canada sells it, it's made by MultiPanel UK, sold under the alupanel brand.
  14. Looking for supplier

The reason you are getting these types of replies is because your quoted price is well well below the average price for printed banners, most of us sell banners for around $8 / sq ft retail (obviously there is some variation there) the $1 sq/ft places are usually wholesale only, no cares about...
  15. Is customer trying to scam me?

Something sounds fishy, a normal person would not throw away a product they were going to try to get a refund on, common sense would tell them that you might want to see the physical sign before issuing a refund. Tell them that they have 2 options, they can return the original signs for...
  16. Suggestions Orafol 3651RA for Wall Wraps

It will work for a permanent installation, just make sure the client is aware that the wall will require extreme repair work if the vinyl is ever removed.
  17. Roland VG-640 TrueVis - Eats Ink like no other

Roland did not buy back my machine, the dealer did, if it was up to Roland I would still be limping through production while they drag their ass coming up with all kinds of possible scenarios why I'm having issues and having me send them hundreds of peck reports. Kudos to my dealer for stepping...
  18. Roland VG-640 TrueVis - Eats Ink like no other

We had similar issues to you, plus a few you didn't list. Roland flew tech's out here multiple times to try and figure out what was happening, never could figure it out. They ended up swapping out the machine 2 times and the issues continued to happen, in the end our dealer bought the machine...
