I'm skeptical due to the huge amount of heat needed to cure latex ink, heat and flatbed printers do not work well together due to material warping, there are enough issues with just the heat from the standard UV lamps causing material to warp and cause headstrikes.

I agree, the prints off our s80600 are extremely durable, I took my fingernail and scratched very hard on a print yesterday and I couldn't get it to leave a mark. Does your dealer have a demo machine you can try out and see if you get the same results off it.

You need to factor in consumables such as ink, vinyl, laminate etc. Also you will be paying an employee an hourly wage to run the machine. These printers are not just plug and play as it looks from the outside, there is quite a lot to learn.

We have the s80600 and the prints are extremely durable, I've never printed on wall paper, but all the vinyl, banner and paper we've used has had excellent adhesion. Prehaps you are putting down too much ink for the media to absorb, have you tried lowering your ink limits?

The only real way to test this is to run the same job from flexi and from versaworks. If it works fine from versaworks than it's a flexi issue, if not it's an issue with the machine. We had a vg640 that couldn't cut accurately to save it's life, so it is entirely possible it's an issue with...

I would test the materials on a latex before you commit, some materials do not react well to the heat of the latex machine.
