  1. Mutoh 1324 Still having Print Issues

Your wasting your time with dampers. I know this is gonna hurt... But it is time for a new print head :( We all do it, avoiding the obvious but you have only one option left and it is the most expensive. My advise is buy a new print head and a new OEM headcable and then use the machine a lot...
  2. Mutoh 1324 problems

That does sound like a lot of issues for under a years ownership. One thing to say is the VJ1324s probably do not have as well built chassis as the larger machines. Like youself I have had issues with card readers (bent pins) but no way to the amount you have had. The issue is with sliding the...
  3. Bulk Ink Mutoh VJ1624

I stand corrected.....lol Typical, Mutoh trying their hardest to lock us into using only their overpriced ink. I am also using Jetbest on my 1604 and 3 years on the same print head and zero blocked nozzles. SC
  4. Bulk Ink Mutoh VJ1624

When you install new cards. Set a print of and whilst it is printing remove the cards and install an old set. You will never need to buy cards again, or until the cards go out of date. Just as long as you do not turn the machine off but they stil work if you put it in sleep mode. I am running a...
  5. Need recommendation for a good third party ink supply.

I would also agree a media or heat issue as you cannot fault Mutohs original inks. I am currently using Jetbest inks and have also good results with Lysons. SC
  6. The Christmas Rush

Well the Christmas Holidays are coming soon and the rush has started!!!! Seems to me, that even though this Holiday comes around every year it still always catches some people unaware. We shut down over the Christmas/New Year period and trying to finish on the 22nd. But the mad rush is...
  7. Mutoh 1617H - spit pad stuck to print head, issues following fix

Replace the maintenance station to assure you have all the pumps working (you can clean it but replacement ensures it's working perfectly). I am a bit concerned that it took 5 days to realise their was a spit pad stuck to the print head! The issue with this is, that when the head has returned...
  8. Mutoh 1204 banding

Of what I can see the test print is not that bad. But it can show up worse when printing due to the nozzles which are blocked or deflected printing (or not priting) in a similair place on the next pass. If you cannot clear it with soaking the head, either go to an even higher resolution print...
  9. why does Signlab 8 do this?

All Versions of Signlab previous and current are 32 bit and do not utilise more than one core. The only thing that would make it faster is a faster processor speed. Mind you processor speed has not altered much over the last 10 years only the number of cores. I think 8.0Ghz is the max at the...
  10. why does Signlab 8 do this?

Yes I noticed this. The only thing is I would not trust the pdf option either as Signlab is not that up to date with importing pdfs and occasionally you will still find things not as they should be. If I was you I would be also opening EPS files in illustrator just to check they were correct. SC
  11. why does Signlab 8 do this?

Yes even installing any version of Signlab onto a 64 bit machine it will only run in 32 bit mode. What's even more annoying is that although Signlab will run in multiple instance it still is only using 1 core unless set in task manager to use another core. This brings any hi-performance machine...
  12. why does Signlab 8 do this?

It is 32 bit have a look on your task manger processes it is running as a 32 bit process. Sc
  13. why does Signlab 8 do this?

I don't think you can read it anywhere I was told by a Cadlink tech. SC
  14. why does Signlab 8 do this?

These look like Euro currency symbols. I have seen this many times before and always thought that was some sort of copyright or security on the logo. But looking futher I reckon it is some sort of funtion such as a fade or special effect that signlab doesn't understand. As Signlab goes their has...
  15. Problem with uni-directional printing on a JV3-160SP

No it prints from both sides of the head in any mode. The issue with wrong colours is that it lays down ink on passing over and back in bi-directional. Always better uni-directional as the resolution of the print will be better. Also lays down more ink. SC
  16. Per sq ft cost of Ink - Mutoh VJ 1324

This is the type of bulk ink sytem I am running. Also I am usin Jetbest inks.
  17. Per sq ft cost of Ink - Mutoh VJ 1324

This topic has been covered plenty of times. It has always been very very hard to work out ink costs in sq ft as no print uses a standard ink amount. Personally we run a bulk ink system in our Vaulejet and to be honest the cost of ink is so negligible now it makes it very difficult or impossible...
  18. VJ 1614 - Ink end error on new cartridge, LifePumpEnd error, & sensors were replaced.

I can't find an image of the sensor. But you should be able to disconnect it and once you have installed some new ink carts it should work. To get your existing ink carts to work you will have to change the smart card for new. As once the sensor for ink end has been triggered the smart card...
  19. VJ 1614 - Ink end error on new cartridge, LifePumpEnd error, & sensors were replaced.

Their is a sensor that when the ink gets too such a point it pushes a piece of plastic out on the cartridge. This activates a sensor to say ink end. Have you changed this sensor? Sc
  20. Banding is back

What's the print test like? if you got even a few blocked nozzles banding will occur. SC
