  1. Question too much black ink

What material are you using? Typically the manufacturers have boxed profiles on their sites for each different printer, RIP, etc. That would be a good starting point and probably the quickest to test out. The GCVP is just a generic profile, each material will retain and display inks differently.
  2. Need Help illustrator creates multiple over lines over image

When you use the shape builder on two areas that touch each other, yes. It will create an outline vector for each of the shapes. If they border each other, or if one is inside of the other, then it will create a vector for each, instead of just using one single path to separate them, which is...
  3. Need Help illustrator creates multiple over lines over image

Hmm. You mentioned that you're using the shape builder tool to clean things up after the trace? If you use that tool on two adjacent objects or areas, it will literally create each shape you tell it to. This means that it is going to have an outline vector around each object. If you made every...
  4. Need Help illustrator creates multiple over lines over image

For starters, I would say that you have to take everything image trace does with a grain of salt. Rarely does it just work exactly as intended off the bat, especially with the default settings. So take the time to play with the various settings, and then take the time to check your art. If it...
  5. Need Help illustrator creates multiple over lines over image

Maybe I'm just having a slow day or a stroke or something.... But I'm not really sure what you're trying to say here? Maybe post some photos or screenshots of your issue? What do you mean by 'digging'?
  6. Looking for ideas for mounting and framing a 4x16 alumaboard store front sign

There are plenty of options for frames and cabinets out there. But if you're wanting to just have the panel, then you'll likely have to drill some holes. I've used something like the frame below a few times, but I'm not sure if they supply it up to 16 ft? Everything is all kits, components and...
  7. PS4 Pro Template?

https://vecras.com/collections/gaming-skin-cut-files/products/sony-ps4-pro-gaming-console-vinyl-skin-vector-cut-file-template-2016 If you're doing enough to justify $46, and that's the right one...
  8. Another spelling mistake

Indeed. Definitely not worth skimping on the right material just so you can price it to win a state bid. Way too much liability..
  9. Another spelling mistake

We've never done any ourselves, but I'm pretty sure most of the MUTCD signs are with the Prismatic Reflective?
  10. How to print and contour cut this logo

You'll have to use a transparent material, reverse your image to print. Then, depending on equipment capabilities, you'll either need to do a second print pass with white to back it, or if your printer doesn't print white, you can use a white vinyl to laminate the back of it. Either way, you'll...
  11. Need Help 3M vinyl to Pantone

According to the above PDF, 3630-51 is Pantone 403C, and the 3630-71 is the 409C.
  12. Shipping orders of multiple ADA signs?

Way back when, we would use little squares of the thin foam and layer in between, but I found the poly bagging worked better for our needs. I've used the stretch wrap this week some, and it's definitely the way to go. Now I just have one or two bundles to toss in a box and secure.
  13. Need Help Print & Cut logo

We run a Roland and use Versaworks for our RIP, so I'm sure your set up will be different. The 360 is a printer only, correct? So you would be printing, laminating if it gets it, then using the Graphtec? Sorry I can be of more help, the Roland is a Print and Cut, so anything we laminate gets...
  14. Need Help Print & Cut logo

Is it just going be from cut vinyl? You mention printing, what sort of printer do you have? I assume you already have the logo designed and have that file that you're trying to print and cut?
  15. Need Help What In The World Happened Here!

So this, along with the fact that the hazy streaks sort of look like drips going down the side (in the further back photo), makes me think some chemical or cleaner may have been used?
  16. Need Help Please suggest a white vinyl to cover text

It may shrink, but if its all you have on hand, the 3641 would have the masking properties you're looking for.
  17. Suggestions Bit CNC

We run 2 5x10 ft Thermwood Model 45's and almost exclusively use Vortex Tools. We have used Onsrud occasionally, if Vortex doesn't have what we need. I have also used a few Amana tools and was happy with them. For our 1624 Vision Engraver, we use Antares, who I have mixed feelings about haha.
  18. Beware of composite aluminum with clear plastic coating and no graphics

Haven't done that one, but I have had several face palm monents.. Like forgetting to check which side was up before applying the 2nd graphic on a double sided ACM panel.. :D
  19. Need Help What In The World Happened Here!

Does it actually have all the tiny horizontal lines in it, or is that something from the camera?
  20. Shipping orders of multiple ADA signs?

That's close to what I'm going to start doing, just with the poly bags and stretch wrap instead of the foam wrap. Then I'll secure those within the box to keep them from moving around. Some of ours have square corners which has punctured the foam wrap in the past. Thank you all for the input!!
