You're not going to get much of a stronger adhesive vinyl for a wide-format printer than DPF8000. There are some nice vinyl combos for printers like the Gerber Edge; I know Gerber makes some nice durable 15" super-adhesive vinyl and we also use LexEdge (polycarbonate) with 3M 467 adhesive...
Templates aren't easy or quick to make, therefore they aint cheap IF they're for sale.
Custom vehicles like golf carts, UTVs, snowmobiles, etc usually require the wrap shop to make their own custom templates.
I'd say nice tool carts. Or rolls of solid color wrap vinyl. Employers should be providing everything else like torches/squeegees for them already.
I know when we got our installers their own carts they really liked them and personalized them right away.
I don't even stock a "process" black or yellow anymore, just regular black and yellow. Never had a real issue with fading on Gerber prints as long as they are laminated.
I know you mentioned cut vinyl, but we have been using 3M IJ180mC-10SLS which is made specifically for installing on stainless. (8519 laminate) See if your rep can get you a sample roll and do a print/cut.
Never seen that happen either, but looks like it somehow did cause it. Maybe take a heat gun and see if it comes out or improves, I know it can cure those ABS plastic fender flares.
I've used some of the other vinyls that are like Phototex (I believe they're by GFP?) and had some adhesive issues (edges curling prints coming off walls) so we have decided to stick with phototex.
