I'd bet it is a different type of "vinyl" than usual, possibly a real cheap or specialty material that kind of melts as you use the zapper and then transfers a bit onto your wheel which then smears it on the surface.

The technicians that came out to work on ours had never even worked on one before our shop, they were used to fixing other HP products but got assigned to fix our machine. And this was under warranty, I can't imagine who would be servicing out of warranty... Always fun when you know more than...

The wasted material was a big issue for us as well as the warm-up and cool-down time. Constant head degradation is an issue when you never have to replace heads on a solvent printer (as long as you know what you're doing) and every part that broke on ours wasn't covered under warranty.

GFP. we run full rolls all day long, easy setup and no issues.

Vertical substrate racks make it easier to get substrates out, but the materials that CAN warp WILL warp on them since there is no pressure keeping them flat.

I would definitely recommend a GFP. We have 2 and haven't had any issues out of them in over 3 years. Run full rolls all day long. We have the 455th series but don't use the heat that much.

You HAVE TO name the name the spot color correctly as "Spot1" in your vector file for the RIP/printer to know to use the spot ink. In your rip you have to use a media profile that includes the spot color. I think the silver ink sucks, we had it in our last 2 printers but on our most recent one...

We print a lot, and I mean a lot, of vinyl and we run our laminators all day every day. We switched to GFP from Seal a few years ago and have never had an issue out of them. Everyone in the shop can use them without issue. I would recommend them to anyone.

What is it doing wrong?

I would assume the boards being the most valuable part and are refurbished and sold.

NewText Bold or Brothers are both pretty close and might be acceptable, Pierce owns the font you see so you're either going to have to redraw it or substitute.
