Because the printer will recognize the ink and say it's not compatible, therefore you'd need to swap the chip from the Max2 cartridge into the Max cartridge.

It won't damage the printer, but the pigments and the drying will be different.

Do you have a photo of the nozzle test? My guess just from what you've said, you need a new head, could also be the cap top if older then 6 months. The nozzle test should shine more light on the situation.

Does it come and go during the print or does it stay once it comes?

Have you replaced the dampers? What about the captops? I would change those if they are both over 6 months and see if that helps at all.

If you're looking for cheap and a printer that is relatively easy to maintain, might look for a SP-300V, although it is older technology, you still can get decent prints and it's a 30" printer & cutter. You'd still need to do a manual cleaning once a week, but once you get used to it, it takes...

Could it be media related? Have you tried different medias to see, as I know due to the whole Worldwide supply chain problem, there are some manufacturers that have slightly changed the composition of their products. Just a thought. Another suggestion would be to play around with your settings...

My guess is that the head is going and a new one will be needed.

You'll need to play around with the profiles, heat setting and print speeds. I find personally the print quality isn't as nice on the TR2 inks, due to all the profiles not being very good.

It could also be the profile you are using. I've found on my SG-300, that since I changed to the TR2 inks, the profiles aren't as good and I've had to play and adjust to work with most medias, so I even need to do 2 prints opposed to only having to do one on the TR inks, because the TR2 inks...

Lol. If only the printers converted waste ink into olives, it would be much more eco friendly, lol.

We just empty the bottles into our waste drum (I know not everyone has that ability) and re-use the old one over and over, so far no issues and they've been doing it for 20 years.

It's the more complex system, which requires the tech to connect to the printer and access it using their credentials and a temporary access code given by Roland from my understanding.

There is definitely some issues with your cyan head, looks like it had a head strike or something which is making deflections and warp. Your magenta and light cyan as well. Looks like you might be needing new heads.

Are you using the TR2 inks? If so, then you'll need a technician to come in to do it, as you cannot access the service menu.

There is a battery on the board, I believe it's the main board (Been a few years since I last replaced one). It's one of those flat circle ones.
