  1. WTF

Anyone who prides themselves as a graphic designer should watch all of Aaron Draplin's videos. They offer some truly inspiring and amazing insight.
  2. Storing Vinyl

I just put it all the way at the outermost edges where residue isn't going to cause an issue.
  3. Storing Vinyl

We buy 1.25" rolls of transfer tape and tape the roll at each end. I also write the type of vinyl on at least one end so I know what kind of vinyl/media it is.
  4. Oracal 751 or 951? Opinions please

We use751 for 95% percent of our cut vinyl jobs and then we use 951 for more demanding applications like horizontal surfaces. Either way you go will be fine, but technically 951 is going to be superior as far as durability.
  5. Question What type of material to Create Helicopter (or Aviation) N numbers?

Orajet 3967AC with Oraguard 293AC laminate is the correct Orafol media and laminate for aviation applications. For 3M products, you would want 3M A7706 or A7322 with a liquid clear coat. I believe the 3M products are screen print compatible only, whereas the Orafol offerings are inkjet compatible.
  6. Signs 365 my new go to for banners

Not to mention, Signs365 puts their grommets in backwards, which I find annoying.
  7. Sign Mounting on Metal Wall

I agree. Polycarbonate with a nice second surface reverse print would be very nice and ultra durable.
  8. Need 5' X 10' vinyl

I would assume since ams mentioned his printer is only 54", he would like a seamless 58" print. Signs365 doesn't do seamless prints over 52" wide.
  9. Best Banner Material

This is what we use in our shop, too and I've never had much trouble with curling, although I've never actually made pennant shapes with it so I can't speak from experience on that.
  10. Just finished this sign today

Great job on the new signage, but no paint prior to installation is bizarre. Honestly, it doesn't even make sense on sooo many levels. But whatever, I guess. It's their gorgeous sign stuck to an ugly a$$ wall.
  11. Best vinyl to use for bench?

Post pics if you can. Is this a bench made from two formed concrete ends with lumber bolted to the seat and the panels you speak of bolted to the back? We've used calendered media with calendered laminate for these things applied to 1/4 ACM and wrapped the vinyl around to the back side, but...
  12. Cut vinyl on a football

This stuff would be ideal if you were doing a lot more than one football. http://www.convexvinyl.com/modelmark/
  13. Font ID Please

    Julietta
  14. Vinyl Curling at edges

Why not just use the recommended 3M laminate?
  15. Need supplier for thin VHB tape

Thank you. This link was a tremendous help. I've been waiting on a call from a 3M rep, but this had all the technical information I needed and I just went ahead and ordered a small roll on Amazon so I didn't have to hunt down a supplier.
  16. Need supplier for thin VHB tape

I had debated on adding Lexel, but the curvature is very slight at about 4" of curvature in a 8' wide section. I agree on the thickess and I may use the .045" tape that we keep in stock in combination with the .025" tape, as needed.
  17. Need Help What In The World Happened Here!

Avery has had a lot of problems since always is more like it. Sadly, their wrap medias are arguably the easiest to apply, so a lot of installers like it.
  18. Need supplier for thin VHB tape

As I mentioned, I'm looking for .025". As I mentioned, I'm looking for .025". I already know which works best for my application, the same tape that Gemini uses. That's what I'm after, but I need the stuff that's .025" thickness. I'm waiting on a call from one of the 3M VHB tech guys so...
  19. Need supplier for thin VHB tape

I'm about 90% certain that I need the VHB 4941 which, to my surprise, N.Glantz doesn't even appear to carry.
