We buy 1.25" rolls of transfer tape and tape the roll at each end. I also write the type of vinyl on at least one end so I know what kind of vinyl/media it is.
We use751 for 95% percent of our cut vinyl jobs and then we use 951 for more demanding applications like horizontal surfaces. Either way you go will be fine, but technically 951 is going to be superior as far as durability.
Orajet 3967AC with Oraguard 293AC laminate is the correct Orafol media and laminate for aviation applications. For 3M products, you would want 3M A7706 or A7322 with a liquid clear coat. I believe the 3M products are screen print compatible only, whereas the Orafol offerings are inkjet compatible.
This is what we use in our shop, too and I've never had much trouble with curling, although I've never actually made pennant shapes with it so I can't speak from experience on that.

I had debated on adding Lexel, but the curvature is very slight at about 4" of curvature in a 8' wide section. I agree on the thickess and I may use the .045" tape that we keep in stock in combination with the .025" tape, as needed.
Avery has had a lot of problems since always is more like it. Sadly, their wrap medias are arguably the easiest to apply, so a lot of installers like it.
As I mentioned, I'm looking for .025".

I already know which works best for my application, the same tape that Gemini uses. That's what I'm after, but I need the stuff that's .025" thickness.
I'm waiting on a call from one of the 3M VHB tech guys so...
