  1. Wow, that's a high price

My favorite was a banner on a local health food store that said support small business, shop local. They got it at vistaprint, you can tell because their banners have a small bar code in the bottom corrner.
  2. Print tragedy - vinyl changed and left me dry??

This, give it a shot, if not ask you supplier to send you a roll from a different lot #, if you've only used 3 feet they shouldn't have an issue with it.
  3. Laying a sign and Laminating prints

In our shop we would mount with the rolls roller, but I've heard good things about the big squeegee, and its about $20,000 less.
  4. Poor service from supplier?

Very shady! I've had a few sales reps in here in the past trying to get me to switch to 3rd party ink, they all make the same claims to be superior to OEM ink, and they all come with a warantee if anything happens. However I don't imagine it's worth the paper it's written on, if you have an...
  5. sign stand for 27" x 72" composite aluminum sign

Spider feet, you can get them from grimco or signcrafters http://www.image1impact.com/spider-feet-substrates-stand-base
  6. Discount Labels ad on Facebook

Have you visited their website recently? The algorithm that sites like facebook use is kinda scary, they know what website you visited and target their advertizing to those sites in hopes of getting you to come back and make a purchase. I'm currently being bombarded by ads for the Nix colour...
  7. Anybody know where to get these?

it looks to be made from rowmark plastic, pretty standard stuff, most any shop that does ADA signs would be able to knock these out for you.
  8. XR-640

The true viz is a great machine, we have the 64" model, there's not a lot of info on line about them but if you have any questions let me know.
  9. HP Latex 570 vs Roland EJ

I don't know how this is possible, the EJ at high speed vinyl is 30 sq/m per hour, and the HP at 10 pass is 14 sq/m per hour, so you can't say the HP is faster. As far as quality goes, I can't speak to that but I'm sure that running at the same pass count would wield similar results.
  10. Box truck wrap intall question

nope, shouldn't be an issue, We've done a few fibreglass box trucks, never had an issue.
  11. Box truck wrap intall question

i'm not familiar with the Avery product, but the 3651RA will be way to aggressive, you will be pulling your hair out! If you dont want to go with a true 2 mil vinyl, go with something like Automark or IJ40 or 3551RA at the least.
  12. Areas of inconsistent ink saturation

Also try playing with the vacuum power on your printer, I find 80% to be the sweet spot for me.
  13. Areas of inconsistent ink saturation

Does the strip of fuzziness run in the same direction as the print head or the direction of the Vinyl feed? I've had this before and it was Running with the vinyl, turned out it was a very small bump in the vinyl where it wasn't right again St the platten, my pinch rollers were worn and...
  14. Moving my XR-640

I'm guessing they threw a high number at you because every tech we have had come to our shop absolutely despises installing printers in basements of houses. Houses are not built to fit industrial machinery into, especially not a 64" printer! I assume it was a "Quote it high and hope they go...
  15. Exterior Building murals?

Price it out using your standard materials than double it, that way you can replace it when it fails in 5 years. There is absolutely no way to get a 10 year lifespan on printed vinyl outdoors.
  16. Roland TrueVis

I never noticed a smell from our old Roland's unless we were printing on banner or poster paper to be honest, but the tru vis has noticeably less odour when printing on those items than our old printer.
  17. Roland TrueVis

the area to the left and right of the print area on ours is massive! plus it's pretty much all metal construction, only a few plastic parts on it. Our 64" printer is almost 10 feet wide after you account for the left and right sides.
  18. Roland TrueVis

if it's not dual CMYK than I would assume the print speeds are quite a bit slower than the VG series. Also the new series does not come standard with a takeup reel.
  19. Roland TrueVis

Just got an email yesterday from Roland, looks like they are bringing out another Tru-Vis model with a 30" & 54" model available, no word on speeds yet though. I imagine this will be replacing the SP series printers judging by the price...
  20. Roland TrueVis

I dont print on magnet, I always print to vinyl and apply
