  1. Need Help Genuine Roland print head

Digiprint supplies sell original Roland heads from my experience. We buy from Roland, but I have customers, that buy from Digi and let me install them. I never had any problems with their heads. They sell original dampers, but also much cheaper china-copies that have a 30% fail rate. That may be...
  2. Problem head rank number

The rank is on a sticker on the packaging of the head. The head should print with the old/wrong rank. You probably inserted the head wrong. The white sticker needs to be on the left side.
  3. Roland Truevis VG2-640 - Banding issues

You need to be able to get into service mode in order to enter the head rank and to adjust horizontal and media gap(formerly bidi). Otherwise it's easy, if you know what you do...(like most things)
  4. help needed with this heat (weather)

Cut too deep, or using the wrong transfer tape. There are three differently tacking transfer tapes available from 3M. (Other vendors will have it as well)
  5. Xc 540 head clunking

My experience is, that the timing belt and pulleys are the culprit. There mostly is dust and ink mist build up on the pulleys until the belt jumps teeth. I use a tooth pick or a cut cable tie to remove the buildup on the pulleys and you are good to go for another couple of years.
  6. Replacing my vinyl cutter, recommendations?

That's exactly describing it... one pull is really easylier and faster than holding down every dot in a text.
  7. Need Help "position invalid, out of range" error - any solutions?

Looks like one of the sensors is defective.
  8. Roland Truevis VG2-640 - Banding issues

Get the head replaced. Some of those Ricoh heads just don't work correctly. Cyan seems to be most problematic...
  9. roland vs 640 wont read crop marks

Versaworks 6 doesn't support the VS-640. But it supports the VS-640i, because it's a newer model.
  10. Replacing my vinyl cutter, recommendations?

Summa, if you want to ease your weeding for the next couple of years. I don't understand people "saving" money on mediocre cutters and then spending their time and nerves on weeding for years and years... I once had a case, when a customer sent a media back, that "didn't work anymore". He was...
  11. Printer won't initiate job sent to it...

Are you by any chance trying it on win7 or win8? You need at least win10 for the actual VW versions.
  12. Question Is it worth saving my Roland ?

WBS is right IMHO. If you print for a living, dump it. Especially this model, that is notorious for mainboard failure. (There are posts here on how people try to replace network devices(SMD parts on the PCB) or resolder the boards and be without a working printer for months... really? If you can...
  13. Need Help My pinch roller lever got broken off

I see those break all the time. (A little less often, when the user is the owner, because I tell them to handle it with care...) One of my customers built a replacement of stainless steel... a clever build without the need to take it apart.
  14. SignLab 10

Reinstall a actual dongle driver. (Preferrably from the dongle company)
  15. NEED HELP IN THE WORST WAY! XC540 Acting very weird!

Is it an original encoder strip? They can have different stepping...
  16. Roland XF-640 8 color mode?

No, it's either double CMYK, or LC/LM W. It would make no sense (speed wise) to have only two colors double. Except for white.
  17. Roland XF-640 8 color mode?

No(there is no ink circulation) and Versaworks doesn't support it.
  18. Need Help Any Roland electrical geeks in the house? IC check slot error

There was a update with the IC chips. You should update to the latest firmware. I had such a problem a while ago with a XC-540.
  19. Versaworks pure red on white suddenly not working

You could print your white layer in the film setting and also with go back to point zero after printing in the cut setting. Then print your red with the generic vinyl setting. If you do this, it's a good idea to create a rectangle around your design to keep the registration correct. (When Roland...
