The rank is on a sticker on the packaging of the head. The head should print with the old/wrong rank. You probably inserted the head wrong. The white sticker needs to be on the left side.

You need to be able to get into service mode in order to enter the head rank and to adjust horizontal and media gap(formerly bidi). Otherwise it's easy, if you know what you do...(like most things)

Cut too deep, or using the wrong transfer tape. There are three differently tacking transfer tapes available from 3M. (Other vendors will have it as well)

My experience is, that the timing belt and pulleys are the culprit. There mostly is dust and ink mist build up on the pulleys until the belt jumps teeth. I use a tooth pick or a cut cable tie to remove the buildup on the pulleys and you are good to go for another couple of years.

WBS is right IMHO. If you print for a living, dump it. Especially this model, that is notorious for mainboard failure. No, it's either double CMYK, or LC/LM W. It would make no sense (speed wise) to have only two colors double. Except for white.

There was a update with the IC chips. You should update to the latest firmware. I had such a problem a while ago with a XC-540.
