  1. Hp after market latex printheads?

Are there real aftermarket printheads? I can't think of someone come up with the technology and knowhow for that price... maybe some shady "refurbishers-refillers".
  2. Roland SP300i Replace?

The black deflection happening on DX4 with EcoMax ink is normal. Soaking never helped for me, because I think it's corrosion on the nozzle plate. Replace the head and switch to EcoMax2 ink and your head will work for years. (As long as the caps make a tight fit, the pump works and the wipers are...
  3. damper replacement

It's definitely more complicated to replace a damper on a SG or VG. I woudn't know how to do it, without taking the printhead/damper combination out of the carriage. When you do that, you need to adjust the heads after you reinstall them. Therefore you need to be in service mode. (There is a...
  4. Summa T160 ripping cuts

The origin mostly doesn't need adjustment. (Except the timing belt jumped a tooth or so...) When you need to adjust, look at the angle of the small block with the tiny ball bearings. If it looks in line with the cutting direction, you should be ok. I also check the starting points of the origin...
  5. HP L28500 error 03:10 upon starting

Can be quite tricky without deeper knowledge of the machine. I had a L560 restart at 58%. After that, a fuse was burned on the printmech board. (The official solution was to use a new PCA... costing a lot.) HP gave me some hints, as to what happens at 58-60% during boot up. A collegue of mine...
  6. Versaworks 4.8 printing "white" when I don't have white ink

Could be a absolute rendering intent simulate the paper color.
  7. Sawgrass SG500 Print Clarity w/Siser Easysubli HT paper

I used Ergosoft Posterprint mostly, but any decent Rip will do. I even bent a old Roland SP-300 with Versaworks 5.5 print correctly with subly inks. (Here you need a profile creation software like iProfiler)
  8. Sawgrass SG500 Print Clarity w/Siser Easysubli HT paper

Subli printing needs a special setup with ink limiting, linearisation and a corresponding profile. You need to measure the end product, not the transfer paper.
  9. Is my 560 just getting old?

The SMK's have a percentage. When they reach 100, the printer complains, but can still be used. If the squeaking is your only problem, just replace the oiler felts. (I can do it in 10 minutes on the lower rail, for the ones on the upper rail, it takes longer and is mostly only done during the SMK3)
  10. Fluorescent colors/ink eco solvent

I have only installed fluo colors additionally to CMYK on sublimation systems. But the lightfastness is not very good.(to say it kindly) I know that swissQ has inks for their UV printers. Color vibrancy is a question of color management mostly, or dirty colors.(nice to see, how the changeover...
  11. HP Latex 115 – Tried everything to clear the 23:10 air pressure error. Best way to get help?

Hard to say from here. Often it's a PIP, or a (air)-leaking cartridge. Then it could be a pump, the tiny tube going to the pressure sensor. But the best one I had lately was a printmech board... it powered the primer solenoid all the time.
  12. Summa s3 or graphtec

I just installed a S3 with camera last Friday. The mark recognition is really fast. (Compared to a standard Opos, or Graphtec, Mimaki, Roland) If you intend to do die cutting and have a decent Rip software, Summa is the way to go. This customer uses a somewhat clumsy workflow. Design and mark...
  13. Need Help Summa D160 Gap at Start of Cut

is it only at the first cut? Then it could be the damper inside the solenoid being compressed. This is a known problem in older Summas. The official solution is to replace the cutting head. I refurbished a couple of these heads successfully with new dampers.
  14. Crease wheel graphtec fc cutters

Hello the creasing tool is just a pin with a radius at the tip. So it's omnidirectional. Real creasing wheels require tangential control. I've only seen them on Summa flatbeds, Kongsberg, Zund and the like.
  15. Chinese Kingjet Eco-solvent Epson i3200 head - $2500 Calibrate? VS ICC profile (Dither Dilemma)

2500.- sounds like one work day around here. During this time, it should be possible to create 4-6 printmode/media combinations. This depends of course on the printers functions... (a UV printer is more forgiving in terms of ink limit, than a ecosol or sublimation.) In my experience, defining a...
  16. Question leaking between black head & captop

Sounds like a leak somewhere from damper to cartridge. Happened to me (mostly in the tubing)a couple of times with heavily used older machines like an EX now is...
  17. Oil for Carriage Rod?

The felts are presoaked,(I did many SMK3) The reservoir on the right isn't. For the felts on the back, they even include gloves, so you don't get the oil on your hands.
  18. Replacing my carriage belt (310) - what else should I check/replace?

Look at the trailing cables(one for power, one for data) going to the print carriage. At a certain age (scan cycles), this cable starts to fray(if you see the shielding through the insulation, replace it)... inspect it.
  19. Roland MG-640 vs Mimaki UCJV-300

    Both printer-cutters can do that.
  20. Skycut V60 - issues with very slow cutting of anything circular.

Is Skycut some Chinese copycat cutter? What software do you use? I had a case many years ago with a brand cutter, where I needed to decide if the curves are sent as short straight vectors or circle segments.(both is possible in HP-GL) If the software send straight vectors, how short do they need...
