  1. Who can fabricate a double sided shaped sign?

I have a customer that wants a new sign, and they want it to be shaped? Who can I contact to give me quotes for this? Preferably in the North East US, closer to Maryland the better. Thanks in advance, Mark
  2. how to price window frost job?

The way that I see it, an hourly rate is in place to cover the cost of running your business. This includes insurance, utilities, rent, machine leases, advertising, and money to pay yourself. The rate covers all the hours that I am able to work, and covers putting a little back for a vacation...
  3. how to price window frost job?

Double the cost of materials, and don't just charge for gas. IRS denotes travel charge at something like $.56 a mile. Either charge the mileage, or the hour you will spend in the truck at $75. That covers the gas, wear and tear, all the associated costs (insurance, oil consumption, etc.) And...
  4. Anyone else having problems with Grimco Website?

I got a follow up email from my sales rep at Grimco this morning, and he was concerned with some of the issues voiced. So this morning I looked at the site, and it may be because I'm on my phone, I was able to find what I was looking for relatively quickly. The prices are right in line...
  5. Anyone else having problems with Grimco Website?

+1. Long story short, when a vendor calls me and says that they can't get the material that I have already ordered and paid for from their distributor, and they have to go to another company, and its going to cost me $40 more than originally quoted, time to move on...
  6. Sandblasted or CNC'ed

  7. Letter track attachment?

Yep, use the Gemini specs, and I use a scrap piece of MDO, or some other type of wood... I prefer the plastic rivets that Gemini sells. The thing with weld on, it can get every where quickly.
  8. Light Box Banner or something else

I get prices from Z3 Graphics or Indy Imaging.
  9. Easy way to do this style of outline?

Instead of messing with the nodes, etc... I'd just make a bunch of boxes the width, and add them, and once I was happy, I'd weld...
  10. First time with real gold

Nice job, looks great. What size did you use?
  11. Sidewalk sign project

Just use eye hooks and a short piece of chain. You can pick it all up at the local hardware store. Sooper makes hinges and feet (available from most sign supply) that you can attach to pieces of MDO.
  12. Hanging HDU Sign Question

My preferred method is like you said, 2 layers, but I fabricate a steel structure...but, since you made it from 2", you could drill all the way through, like Gino said, but that could be tedious. If it goes off, you do run the risk of drilling through the face. Not to mention, probably having...
  13. Reflective Safety Stripes - Where can I get these?

I've been asked to letter a van, and they need rear safety stripes like the attached picture. It has to be blue / white. Is there a company that makes these, or will I have to just cut a bunch of blue and white reflective and apply in strips? Thanks in advance, Mark

  15. Avoiding storm spikes

I unplug all my computers and plotters when we get a storm. I've had an electrical strike that took out a computer and plotter...Luckily my insurance paid out and I got new equipment.
  16. Shop Truck & Sign Transportation

My truck is only a 63" bed. I put tools in the bed, and just pull a 6'×10' utility trailer.
  17. Commercial grade silicone adhesive?

Lowes, or you can order it from Amazon.
  18. Polycarb Thickness Question

That's for white, by the way, but now I now see your in Oregon. When I first looked, I thought it said Ohio... Sorry, I don't know of any distributors on the west coast, other than Pacific sign supply.
  19. Polycarb Thickness Question

I just looked, and harbor sales has .177 in 54" roll stock for around 18.60 a linear foot...
  20. Polycarb Thickness Question

Roll stock comes in various widths, so I would think he did mean 100", antique there's perhaps several thousand feet of it (I'm guessing). To the op...who did you get the quote from? I'd check around. My distributor (harbor sales) has .177 in various widths...
