  1. Gerber Router AR 600

Out of curiosity, why? I have an AR router that I am still using on XP... it's not connected to the Internet, so I'm not worried about it getting infected.
  2. lanham act

So your client can't name their business cupcake mary, because some other outfit has copyrighted "cupcake"? They may be onto something...I'm going to copyright both words "Signs" and "Graphics", and tell all you other guys that since "own" those two words, you have to change your business...
  3. Storefront vs Home Based Business?

Each has its advantages. With a storefront, your going to have tire kickers, and people that want the cheapest items, and will want you to "beat" the internet price. You will have it as a home based business, but it won't be as much, because of your lower exposure. I am a home based, but I...

If you need hanging strips, why not have your plastic distributor cut a bunch of thin strips out of the drops? I get my roll stock cut at harbor sales, and I had them cut a bunch, and now if I need one, I just grab it from the bin, glue it on, and I'm done....no need for cutting it in house.
  9. Completed jobs and mistakes.

For that volume, you can't expect 100% accuracy, much less 150%. No one is perfect, and $&!t happens. To me, it sounds more like the boss has no clue about production. It appears to me that the company is one of those franchise shops, where the owners are trained by corporate how to "run"...
  10. Anyone purchase fonts from letterheadfonts?

Yeah, I was going to say, I have never had any issues with them... if there are any issues, I would suspect that it would be on your end. Like James B said, check your spam filters. They are one of 2 font sites that I use (the other being signdna.com), and I know for a fact that they are...
  11. How long would it take you to CNC this?

Too bad it's not next Friday. Harbor is having an open house, and reps from all the companies they offer will be there, as well as equipment demos.... You could have come down and gotten a free lunch...
  12. How long would it take you to CNC this?

And that's the problem with customers today... I call it the Walmart mentality. "Oh, you mean you don't have 14 sheets of a precut material in stock?" When the customer seems surprised that you can't get it out, I sometimes will tell them that I have other projects that I am also working...
  13. No Job? 10K in the bank? Start a sign business!!!!

Do you have any experience in the sign industry? In your original post you said there is some sign and screen equipment, but no elaboration as to if you know how to run them and be profitable. Did you have a shop previously? There is so much more to it than just opening a door and making...
  14. Samples / Proofs

For print graphics, no. I have done some dimensional samples for customers, using gold leaf, smalts, and custom painting. But they don't leave my possession. Worst thing is I have a couple of really nice samples for my wall.

  16. Supplier needed for (30) sheets of 6mm white coro guillotine cut to 18"x18"

Have you checked out Harbor Sales. Not sure that they blind ship, but they are a wholesale only distributor.
  17. Sample Vinyl

The signs were multi color because the customer wanted it... As far as crazy prices, I went out of my way at 6 pm on a Friday night, and promised to have it installed by 10:30 the following morning. If I'm going to drop other projects to meet the customers demands, and they want a...
