  1. Mdo

I have to agree that prepainted is not all that. It looks much like a cheap primer to me. I always radius the edges with my hand router, fill any voids in the edges with body filler, prime with zinzer primer, and a coat of one shot on both sides. It works for me, and they last for years.
  2. Can a landlord dictate who makes a tenants sign

  6. Installation of a hanging MDO sign

That's my biggest concern. With the swinging, then the hardware may loosen up, which will really suck...at least for me. The building construction is wood, with slat siding... so going through the wall could be problematic. attached shows more what I am doing with the brackets.... I...

  8. Installation of a hanging MDO sign

Hey, guys, I have a quick, how would you install it... I have a 24" x 96" ( vertical ) double sided MDO sign, that I will be installing on the side of a building. I have a nice bracket (from the sign brackets store) that will hold the weight, but I'm a little concerned about the "swing". I...
  9. Can't believe it..............................

I've gotten a couple, myself. I wonder how bad the turnout was. There were no classes of any interest to me this year. Hopefully next year will be better. I'd like it if Francis Lansetti does a class next year... that I would like to attend.
  10. 3D Lettering

I agree. A 3' tall letter may have to be thicker than 2" to get any bevel on it, increasing the weight (considering no cell structure for strength for mounting ) and cost.

  12. Re: gerber participation in paid section of forum

Yes, and paying for a subscription helps keep this site here.... The least it will cost you is $7.50 for a month to see if there is more, but a yearly subscription is less than that.
  13. Pricing this job...unreasonable?

Yeah, your low. I'd be in the $450 range....

  16. It's time to buy a little plotter...

The one that I bought years ago was a true tangential machine. It was a 48" plotter that ran off a serial cable... It's so much better at small detailed work, but a bit slower. Very rarely have it wished for a wider machine. My 24" does me just fine...
  17. It's time to buy a little plotter...

I second Summa... I've tried using Roland at past employers , and they are ok, but long ago, when I had to buy a plotter at one company I worked at, I chose Summa (and I looked at them all)... when it was time for me to buy for my own company, I didn't even look around. I went with Summa. 24"...
