  1. What kind of printer for a Vehicle Wrap job?

Outdoor without question. (was a dumb question) Mutoh, Mimaki, Roland, HP, Epson, are most popular in America, SID Signs has some from Asian imports and there are tons of others available with little or no tech support (profiling, parts, etc.), Roland and Mimaki have integrated cutting...
  2. Cutting a Partial Wrap

    +1
  3. Wrap Material - Hate to start a new thread but...

I'll answer your question rather than get annoyed. As for "most forgiving" they are all pretty much as durable as each other if you are getting the same thickness (mil) and overlam. 2 things you are going to look at are conformability and initial tack, aggressiveness of adhesive. (in my...
  4. Wrap Material - Hate to start a new thread but...

Nice one. (no really...that was a good one...touch'e) Apparently I was the only one in a foul mood that day who was annoyed at your premise of having exhausted this topic when it's probably one of the most asked questions in this forum..."which vinyl to use" etc. Most of the time I'm not alone...
  5. Wrap Material - Hate to start a new thread but...

"Try reading" the rest of my post though.
  6. Wrap Material - Hate to start a new thread but...

If you are "tired of searching this topic" you should know by now what kind of answers you are going to get, because surely you've read the umteen other threads that have the same question. You'd have learned that not all installers or shops have the same opinions and therefore you'd have...
  7. Looking for camouflage pattern

I guess I'm referring to the "seamless texture tile" one that shows huge yellow and green cartoon-ish superimposed on a jeep. I admire the process you used with input from the forums but I suppose I've got the huge bias against those "repeating" tile-able patterns on vehicles as explained...
  8. Wrap Material - Hate to start a new thread but...

3M or Avery. I prefer 3M...but Avery is comparable. I find you have to squeegee Avery a little harder to get it to lay down, whereas 3M seems to lay down easier. IMO
  9. Looking for camouflage pattern

I swear I am NOT trying to be a jerk...but I clicked this link and saw the "camo" pattern in there...and it is Completely HIDEOUS! There's no "Realistic Detail" that I see either. Again...in this industry we all have our own opinions, but I would pee my pants laughing if I saw a truck with this...
  10. Revamping those boring vehicle wrap pics!

I would have to respectfully disagree with your assessment and say YES you are "that far off." I saw very FEW of those wraps being "ineffective" due to busyness. The color schemes are grabby and the layouts are NOT chalk full of information but rather focus on the logo and some thematic imagery...
  11. vehicle wraps... is it better to

    Depends.
  12. Roland VP 540 head cleaning way to often!

Weird thing is...why would ink cartridge status have anything to do with cleaning print heads? I've never had that problem and I've used both EcoSol Max and Solaris inks.
  13. Cloudy 3M 8518

Yes about 3 times....the last 10 or 15 feet of my 8518 had that look to it. It looks like it was roughed up a bit...and if you look at it from a distance...there's an angled pattern to it.
  14. Vehicle wrap materials

And then WAKE UP! You're dreaming if you think I'd let you come in here with a vehicle wrap company design for your car, want me to print and install it for you, who is attempting to become a possible competitor, and let you watch every step of the way? Are you serious? Sure...I'll print and...
  15. Knifeless Tape

So is Knifeless Technologoies and WrapCut the same company or different?
  16. Looking for camouflage pattern

I don't like those name brand camo patterns for vehicles because the repeating pattern is so visible and looks silly. (not much of a camouflage) They were designed for clothing and gun stocks...nothing larger than 18" or so. So by the time it get's on a vehicle...it's repeating like crazy...
  17. Switching inks - Colorific to Eco-Sol

You mean "3rd party inks" and Yes, there are.
  18. Box Truck Graphic Wrap installation easy way

He claimed to be "new" at it and then posted his pix of unfinished product (rivets) whilst touting he had an "innovative" method we would all be learning from him. You come on here doing that, and you ARE asking for it.
  19. Solaris Inks Anyone?

I can't say your experience is wrong, but it seems to go against ALL the other posts in here as well as my experience. NEVER had a problem with them replacing inks if there was a problem. In the beginning the tape used inside the cartridges came loose and wouldn't tell printer it was empty. So...
