To be clear, the job you agreed to do was wrap over the previous wrap? Without seeing the previous wrap? Removal not an option? Vinyl is rated for specific periods of time for many reasons. Just wrapping over them isn't recommended for the most part.
Simple test. Take a photo of the car on the shaded side, then one on the side with the sun hitting it. Also one with indirect light on it. Now compare all 3 photos next to each other and you'll see 3 completely different colors. Due to flakes in the paint, and the thickness of the clear...
I can't trust any of the templates. Had experience with all of them being slightly off when putting against true life measurements. So...sure for proofing purposes you could use them, but why do the work twice and pay the extra money for them? If you get your hands on their actual vehicle or...
Nope. Rolling laminated cast vinyl won't do that if you roll it face in. But due to only 50% of the laminate stuck to the perf...the other half wants to buckle.
It's because it's perf for sure.
NOPE. If his wrapped vehicle is in public, and you take a photo of it, you can post that photo for editorial purposes. Nobody was making money off the photo of the wrapped vehicle. If you are in public...you may be photographed. The "Press" do this everyday. If they are reporting facts about...
The fact that "each and every one of us has broken SOME law at one point or other in our life" does not legitimize people to continue breaking laws now does it render laws we have broken acceptable. That's the very attitude that makes way for people to ignore laws altogether. Next thing you...
Even sewing a banner doesn't keep it from possibly getting torn up in the harsh weather outdoors (freezing, wind, etc.) I always make sure my customers know that banners are
"Temporary" signage and aren't meant to be used as a permanent sign alternative. That way there are no expectations for...
Yeah, Truck Ads uses 3M's Dual Lock special velcro type tape and some extra panels.
The initial kit is a little pricey and the change out kit (x amount of linear dual lock) costs less. They offer wholesale and retail prices. The other banner frame system is a drill/screw mount system with...
My wife washed a $400 ish check and destroyed it. The guy (another sign shop I did a large print for) won't get back with me after I asked him many times to re-write it and I'd even pay a stop payment fee if he wanted. I don't think he's legally obligated to write another check...but at the same...
well thanks guys...I see the benefits of the heads as a consumable part in the long run if they are that cheap. Also, as for ink disposal...if it's dry, like on a print...it's not improper disposal...so just pour it onto the backing of rolled out in the outdoors...it'll dry in a short time and...
Still with immediate cure time...it's well worth it I suppose. I just didn't realize print heads were considered a "consumable" item until now. Thanks guys.
So 6 print heads that need changed out several times a year at $100 a pop is cheaper than 1 print head at $1000 once in 3 or 4 years? How do you figure?
Or do you just mean the headache during that time of replacement. Because price of head replacement seems way higher in the long run with...
I'm considering going to HP Latex printer from Roland...but I'm a little curious why they market "cheap and easy to replace" print heads as a big factor? Do the print heads on HP or Latex print heads go out that often that price and ease of replacement is a selling point? I've had my Roland...
Whoa...whoa...Valspar spray, that you can't see through? You aren't spraying it on the perf AFTER you install it on the window are you? If so...that's your problem. :)
Other than that...you should be able to see through the perf after installed.
Or am I missing something?
After seeing a Large Motor home wrapped in VERY long horizontal panels, and all the back and forth on rolling scaffolding and 3 people or more helping...I'd still rather go with vertical panels. Although...if you have 2 installers...horizontal may work for you.
He told you in the 1st part of his reply....Installation experience. It's easier to handle in vertical panels. But you do what is comfortable for you. Maybe buy the Wraptor lol
+1
The extra $150-$300 for laminate (u don't need cast if using calendered vinyl) is well worth adding to the price of the wrap just in time and headache alone.
I've done 2 wraps without lam...NEVER AGAIN. It took twice as long with a reprinted panel due to tearing etc.
Adding $300 to the cost...
