That doesn't even make sense. 3651 matched with 3651 should not shrink at different rates.
To the OP, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Done it before in a pinch. Don't expect ANY UV resistance, and might be slightly cloudier than laminate, but for like cranking out coro signs and such it'd...
#1 problem... you let a customer sit over your shoulder while designing!!!!! Don't do it man! EVER EVER!!!! This kind of stuff happens, and look at ya now, you want attack your customer with a bar of soap.
I'm gagging just thinking of it
It's a fine line. I see a lot of rude people BEING disrespectful, and I don't have an ounce of patience for them (I've been to known to once in a blue moon, snap a sign in half in front of a customer), but with that said. 100% agree with the entitlement thing. I've hired numerous people over the...
Small vehicles I prefer myself but a lot of vehicles I like a 2nd person. ESPECIALLY trailers (my main gig). Even if it's doing nothing but just holding while I position, but hey everyone's got their own style at this stuff.
Maybe it's just cuz I'm not in your league though lol
Didn't you used to work at Gerber?
Yeah, wraps take a LOT of practice, go on dry, laminate is a MUST, no cheapy material, and really helps if you have a 2nd person to help hold the pieces.
60" x 150' 3551 - $495
60" x 150' 3951 - $709
not $20 savings... $214 savings.
And no one is going to get ran out of town over using 3551. Heck I'd say half the "wrap guys" in town here are using intermediate air release vinyl. 3551 is some awesome and beautiful material. It's ALMOST a full...
Sorry I don't think I could get into it. I mean props if these guys are giving up over a year of their life to sail little boats around the world, and who knows the insanity they have to go through some days. But... really, how could this ever get that popular???
#1 suggestion. Design in black and white first. If you would've on this, it would come out totally different. Now you may ask "why black and white"? Because, it forces you to design differently. You're not relying on effects, you're relying on proper shapes. And it shows you where to put lights...
lol. It was done on a weekend at a warehouse 40 miles from my shop. I finished that side Sunday evening, when the trailer was leaving Monday morning. That's how race vehicles works, everything's last minute. I actually told the owner we could dink with it when he got back but he said it wasn't...
As much as I hate CL lowballers, it's almost equal to how much I hate people who flag stuff just because they don't agree with it.
Sorry. No cake for you.
I simply cannot figure this out. I just upgraded to X5 and getting comfortable with the new layout (and trying to swallow the fact it's 10x more prone to crashing than X3), but the part that's irking me off is the export to jpeg function.
In X3, I can take a cmyk vector layout, export as a rgb...
hahaha. Like 75% of the sign trade! Majority of sign shops I've seen still don't have a printer. You're out of the loop buddy. :corndog:
To Skittles, how are you applying? Squeegee method? Did you just flop and squeegee or did you center hinge? With a center hinge, you should've had minimal...
I'd bet a dollar in a donut hole any halfway decent sized wrap company, wouldn't touch that thing. No offense to Sergio or any of his buddys making it, I just think it's pretty well a gimic. We all gotta make a buck though right?
lol TM had to stay, couldn't tweak the logo or circle other than outlines/drop shadows. I do agree with you 100% though.
I have an idea on a fix for the bird so his face shows again. Will have to do it when they're back in town as I was in a huge time crunch and wasn't done at my shop...
Did struggle with that a little, and wasn't sure about using white on the circle when there was really no white anywhere else...but owner insisted on keeping them consistent because there will be a booth all around the trailer and those are the colors and logo's used. So did my best :)
