  1. If somebody has not paid for a sign, do we have the right to go take it back?

My plan is to take them to court, this was more to satisfy my curiosity. With that said, this is really helpful information...thank you!
  2. If somebody has not paid for a sign, do we have the right to go take it back?

Would this be considered theft even though they've never paid for it? I have somebody who has been ghosting me for months, refusing to answer calls or emails and I'm wondering what my options are. I'm likely just going to take them to small claims court, as I'm sure you'll be advising, but I'm...
  3. What's proper etiquette if a prospect sends you a competitor's proof for pricing?

That was a nice rant and all but would you mind hopping back up on your soap box for a moment and sharing what you would do? All you've done so far is said don't ripoff their artwork (which I already agree about)...but what next steps would you take? Would you flat out decline to work with...
  4. Slowdown????

As a political moderate, I downvoted you, not because of the accuracy/inaccuracy of your statements, but because you're trolling and turning a discussion among sign shop owners into a political divide.
  5. What's proper etiquette if a prospect sends you a competitor's proof for pricing?

Would you make the sign exactly as your competitor drew it up? Make changes so it's not completely ripping off their work? We get pricing approval before we do any design work for this reason, but I'm sure these things work both ways. I don't think we should turn down the work, but I do want...
  6. Can I roll up a large Lexan panel with vinyl supplied to it?

We are making a large Lexan sign that will need to be rolled up to be transported but I'm concerned it will cause the vinyl to either stretch or peel off. How would you guys go about dealing with this situation? Thanks in advance for any guidance!
  7. Can we use Primer 94 on non-3M vinyls?

Is there a similar product we can use with Orajet that won't cause the adhesive to fail?
  8. Can we use Primer 94 on non-3M vinyls?

I'm wondering if we can use Primer 94 on things like Orajet calendared vinyl or Avery cast vinyl. There are certain contours where using something like Primer 94 is essential but I'm not sure if we can use it for these other materials. Thanks in advance!
  9. Where's the cheapest place to order a large number of 8'x4' coroplast signs?

Yes, sorry, thought that was a commonly used term.
  10. Where's the cheapest place to order a large number of 8'x4' coroplast signs?

I'll look into emailing them. On their website, when you select 96x48, you no longer have the ability to select spot color as an option.
  11. Where's the cheapest place to order a large number of 8'x4' coroplast signs?

Looks like theirs are full digital at that size as well.
  12. Where's the cheapest place to order a large number of 8'x4' coroplast signs?

Looking for somebody that can do a bunch of political signs with 2 colors (plus white). Stouse doesn't seem to offer spot color process on signs this large. Thanks in advance!
  13. How do you wrap the ridges on the side of a bus?

We're trying to wrap the side of a school bus and are trying to figure out how to wrap vinyl in the ridges on the side of a bus without overly stretching the vinyl or causing the vinyl to wrinkle as we work our way up. The image below isn't the bus we're doing but you can see the ridges I'm...
  14. Is there a single RIP software I can use to manage both Mimaki and HP Latex printers?

Right now we use RasterLink Pro for our Mimaki and Flexi for our HP. Is it possible to manage both of these from a single interface to simplify operations? Thank you!
  15. Have you ever tried postcard advertising?

Would you be willing to share a bit more about how you use state contracts to target people? If that's effective, I'd like to experiment with it. I've read mixed results about postcards... My results may be the same as yours but I'm hopeful they won't be.
  16. Have you ever tried postcard advertising?

I'm always up for trying something new to see what works, and postcards are next on the list. The most important part of this (other than the quality of the list) is having a compelling offer that will get people to call/email. For those of you that actively market your business, what offers...
  17. What do you do when a surface is too hard to drill through?

We're hanging a sign on a monument with concrete backing where the sign is being hung. It's not lit and there's no power or anything like that which would pose a danger, it's just something stronger than concrete behind the face (likely rebar as mentioned).
  18. What do you do when a surface is too hard to drill through?

We've had a couple installs recently where we were drilling into concrete and after an inch or so, we reached some sort of surface that even our strongest drill bits couldn't make any progress. I'm guessing there was some sort of steel rebar beneath the concrete that we couldn't drill through...
