I wouldn't be buying the location as much as the equipment and the people.
If I want to make that decision for my business, does it really matter to you?
I'm just looking for some guidance from those that have been able to build a true business out of their sign shop (that doesn't rely on...
I don't want to step away from the business, but I do want to be able to buy another shop in a neighboring location that will add to our capabilities (in terms of what we can do in-house). I won't be able to do that until I've gotten this original shop to the point where it is self-sustaining...
Some of you know my stories, others do not.
I purchased a sign company 16 months ago that I added as a division to my pre-existing marketing agency.
In the past 16 months, it's felt a lot like drinking from a fire hose between learning the industry, hiring the right team, and trying to scale...
We're getting ready to expand our office from around 1,200 sq ft to just a bit under 3,000 sq ft and one of the things I want to do with the space is add a 2nd production table.
The one we currently have came with the company when I purchased it so I'm not sure where it originally came from...
2 3/8" is the standard these days but some of these posts are 75+ years old (old manufacturing facility) and I guess the standard pole size back then was different than it is today.
I'm looking for connectors that are 1 7/8" in diameter that mount on top of the poles that I can then connect street signs to.
It looks something like what you see in the image below:
Thanks in advance for any help!
What part of WV are you in?
My shop is in Virginia but I went to WVU so I have lots of ties out your way.
I bought my sign shop a little over a year ago, and it's been a lot like drinking from a fire hose. Below are some of the big lessons I've learned:
Hire a Sign Shop Vet - When I bought...
It's a lot of small individual pieces that cover the majority of the vehicle but you're right, it's a contour cut vs. a wrap.
I know we do these with Avery 1105, which isn't cheap vinyl, but I'm not sure what they used back in the day.
The timeline of owners has definitely been a bit crazy...
Is this a material defect? 3-4 years seems premature for the sun to be breaking down the materials.
I'm a bit conflicted on the path forward.
This is one of our better clients but these were installed by a previous company (I bought the company last March and going back to 2015, the people who...
Good morning SignsSupport!
Are there any plans to restore Tapatalk functionality? As it's been around a year, I'm guessing no, but it's a better mobile experience so I'm hoping perhaps you may!
Thank you.
A client of ours who we do vehicle wraps for has reported that several of their wraps from 3-4 years ago have before to show discoloration.
These were done before I bought the company so I don't know the exact materials they used.
Is this due to washing incorrectly? Degassing? Something else...
Yep, we're installing over top of the old print.
Not sure if we'll need to deal with them again in another 4 years but if we do, I'll make sure we don't have to remove it.
I'll take a look at the 3641, thanks.
A local politician has a bunch of ACM panels he wants to re-use and a full color design.
Typically we'd use an Orafol/Oraguard combo but we want to reduce the cost on these as much as possible so I'm trying to figure out what a less expensive material option would be.
The election is in...
