You can print white and cmyk in a single pass on the Roland. Gloss varnish is added on a second pass, so if you’re buying for the spot gloss effect, it will be even slower. Roland will print matte and gloss effect like the Colorado, UV inks are matte by default anyway.
How clean is your shop...
I’m from the UK but now based in Sweden. Spandex exist here too but we don’t buy any foils from them as they never have stock and their prices are ridiculous. We buy direct from the US.
Always happy to help out. You are welcome to dm me if you need anything printing. Thanks!
You could use a strip of vinyl and wrap it round the cap until you have a nice interference fit with the core. The take up side should work with a standard small core. If all else fails you could transfer the foil onto a smaller core. We did this in the past and made an attachment for a cordless...
If the FX roll will physically fit inside the edge 1/2 cartridge, then I guess you could just wrap tape around the end cap to bring it up to FX size. Never tried this, just a wild guess.
Silver medal 2 for the Edge 1/2 is roughly the same price as FX foil. Why not just buy the correct foil? I...
Another water slide decals question. I tried the search then spent 30 minutes reading an interesting thread about printing onto skateboard decks. Anyway...
We get requests for large orders (1000+) of waterslide decals for bicycle frames.
We have eco solvent, UV and thermal printers. Can we...
Yes but you have to set the media length so it knows how much to rewind after printing. I think there’s a maximum length too. Not worth the hassle really.
Im not a fan of the Roland take up. The cheap Chinese clutch type take ups work much better, especially for print and cut. You can set the...
Check your cutter settings in cut server. There is a check box for auto cut new files which will send the cut files to a folder for the barcode server rather than leaving them in cut server.
We run Onyx and it still recognises the Pantone spot colours even if the colours are not displayed correctly in Illustrator.
The Pantone Connect interface is clunky as hell. I hope they improve the functionality and sizing, then it will probably be worth paying for.
I assume you mean 400F?
We regularly supply decals to a local powder coating company here. The decals are used on brake calipers for cars.
They powder coat the brakes, apply the decals, then apply the clear powder and bake them again to seal the decal in. Their oven temps are between 350F and...
You could try to draw a box around each word then group the box with the word. Then perform the envelope distort and delete the boxes afterwards. Try to make the box the same size as the word it is grouped with.
If that fails, maybe just do a free distort on each word until it looks right.
We cut a strip of matte laminate and apply it over the marks around the job. Then we apply white vinyl around each crop mark. These are pre cut white circles with a square hole in the middle that is the same size as the crop mark. Just peel and stick.
Edit - sorry I just realised you tried this.
Ah, we run Roland and Epson printers with metallic, as well as Edge FX. Currently looking for an alternative for the Edge for chrome prints
I was curious if he was using a UV printer to underlay the white. I have never been impressed with the opacity of eco solvent white ink, not to mention...
I'm interested to try the Substance chrome. Do you print white over the chrome as a backer for other colours? If so which printer do you use and how is the coverage?
