  1. Server dead, I'm so happy!

We have two internal hard drives in our file server (1TB each) that are mirrors in case one dies. Then we have a removable tray that contains another 1TB hard drive that we back up to and take offsite (in case of a fire, flood, etc.) Although I should do it more often, my offsite copy only...
  2. Server dead, I'm so happy!

Nice work. Now I'm going to do a full back-up tonight.
  3. Dirt late model skins

It's hard to beat free, huh, Hip? We used to focus quite a bit of our business on race cars but sadly, I can't give them away either. We now do less than 10 a year. I thought maybe it was just me but I guess not.
  4. Dude, where's my car?

I don't think the Aveo will be making it out before the new year.
  5. Imagaro Z Font/Vectorize Software

    :thumb: I agree 100%.
  6. How thin's your spoil board?

AWESOME! I had never heard of "Trupan" but it sounds like what we're using. Harbor refers to it as Tumac Ultra-Light Medium Density Fiberboard. I (incorrectly) thought it was called LDF. $63 for a 5' x 10' 3/4" sheet. Is that about what you guys are paying?
  7. How thin's your spoil board?

We have a vacuum hold down with LDF for the spoil board. It started out at 3/4" but is down to about half that now. How thin do you let yours get before you replace it?
  8. Brackets for Double Sided Signs

You probably picked up the 1/2" measurement regarding the distance from the edge of the sign to the border. We're actually using 3/4" Komacel. Would you still be worried about the screws holding knowing now that it's 3/4"?
  9. Brackets for Double Sided Signs

Not crud, very good rendering! That's exactly what I had pictured from your previous post.
  10. Brackets for Double Sided Signs

Here's what it would look like using Marlene's suggestion. I hadn't considered making it "part of the overall look" and if you all think my other idea is not durable enough, this is probably what I would go with. CES020-I've seen(and used) the same method you mentioned. For this sign, I only...
  11. Brackets for Double Sided Signs

I've been thinking about it more. Do you think this will work (see attached)?. I would use .125 aluminum, attach it into the edges of the PVC with several screws (countersunk) and then attach the aluminum/sign to the post. My main concern would be the connection between the aluminum and the...
  12. Brackets for Double Sided Signs

Sorry - I should have mentioned that. It's 3/4" Komacel. We're doing 10 signs and there two different sizes - 2'x3' and 3'x4'.
  13. Brackets for Double Sided Signs

We're doing several double sided signs that will be mounted between 4"x4" wood posts that will be covered with PVC sleeves. We would typically use Sooper brackets for this but I'm looking for something less "intrusive". See the attached image of what the brackets will look like on our sign and...
  14. Facebook Paranoia?

From what has been shared, I'm hearing that it shouldn't be a concern. I think everyone has implied that the benefits outweigh any potential drawbacks and that if we're doing our job correctly, then there's nothing to be worried about at all. Got it. Since no one has specifically responded to...
  15. Facebook Paranoia?

OP (unitentionally) raises another excellent point. Perhaps you have someone who's not trying to steal your business but just wants to get under your skin.
  16. Facebook Paranoia?

While I don't think I've lost anyone(yet), I mostly agree with your conclusion. In many cases, someone cheaper will get the work. I'm not the cheapest and hence my dilemma. I believe that our company is known for quality materials and skilled installations. As you know, these things do not...
  17. Facebook Paranoia?

I'll give you an example. This week, I'll be doing 11 cars for an agency that had previously been doing their graphics "in house" via their own vehicle maintenance facility. To my knowledge, no other sign companies in our area know that this is going to happen and thus are not actively...
  18. Should you fire this employee?

That, to me, is the real issue. Once trust is gone, every single teeny tiny thing becomes an enormouse struggle and adds an intolerable level of stress. I know someone else already pointed it out but I believe warrants repeating, the other employees will be closely watching how this is handled.
  19. Facebook Paranoia?

For those that regularly update their Facebook (or website) with photos of recently completed work, are you ever concerned with competitors keeping tabs on who your clients are and potentially poaching them? Has anyone had a verifiable and real life experience of this happening? If so, has...
  20. Keep off my property!!!

Trying to erase the mental image of a drunk, armed, half naked Mosh creeping up on me. Not knowing what he really looks like, I envision Robert Di Nero a la Cape Fear. Similar story: I came out of the house one morning to find my truck in the ditch across the street. I was livid because I...
