If it hasn't been powered on for two years it will need a new head. Probably why it is cheap. Add 1000 Euros on for this. Plus the other things you have already mentioned.

I would see if you can find a used carriage board and swap that and the head cables over and see if that fixes the problem. Is a lot cheaper than replacing the head. Avoid the new boards advertised in china as they aren't genuine Roland ones, they are copies so you never know if they are going...

To be honest, if you want to print and cut stickers, get a machine designed to do that. If speed is an issue, lots of people run multiple print and cut machines ( a business I used to do their servicing for ran 5 Roland SPs ). Just load up the job, set it going and wait until it's finished...

The canon may print quickly, but then add on the time for removing the vinyl, laminating it and then loading and cutting on the summa. A print and cut machine would probably work out quicker and a lot less hassle. Also if you print in solvent inks then for most jobs you wouldn't need to laminate...

Which printer? If its not the head or head cables it is normally the print carriage board above the head has gone faulty, this is what the head cables plug into and transfers the thermistor signal to the main or servo board ( depending on model )

It does very much depend though on what other people in your area will do the job for. If he has people quoting half that then you are too high, if they are quoting double then you are too cheap. You have to fit in with your local market to get the work

Thats over $50 sq/foot for a flat surface install. I would say that is pretty high. 80 ft of materials, two men working for one day ( max ) to install. How many hours are you putting aside for design work ?

That should be fine. Sometimes they sell them on longer lengths so it can be better to get one of those as you can then cut it down and more than one strip from it

How are you going to contour cut them if people want something you can't just cut out with a ruler and knife? The Canon printer is really a poster printer, not for printing decals

I would say for install only jobs you would normally charge an hourly or daily rate. If you think the job will take you a day and a half, charge for two full days and base the price on that and that would include travel time. $1100 a day sounds quite a lot to be honest

We have all been there. When the customer sends a 72dpi one inch tall copy of their logo, and when you ask for a better ones they just resize it or save the 72dpi as 600dpi !

Make sure you order the correct size ! A lot of the chinese sellers advertise strips for various machines, but they aren't correct. Also the cheap ones don't have the adhesive on the back
