  1. Cleaning Substrates...What do you use?

Where are you finding 99% and especially at that volume? We can only find 50% and 70% I believe -- at walgreens....
  2. Cleaning Substrates...What do you use?

Hey guys, curious what everyone else is doing here. We're always looking for good ways to cut costs (without cutting corners!!!) The application fluid we currently use doubles up as a cleaner/installation fluid, but at almost $30/gallon, we go through it SO FAST. Thought about using straight...
  3. Dirty Font ID

You are awesome. I really don't feel like spending hours cleaning the grunge out of it...might be a job for auto trace.
  4. Tabletop Decals

I agree laminate with floor laminate.
  5. Ideas...Gloss black on flat black

Printed black ink to matte black 3M 1080 Wrap film and it turned out AWESOME. Thank you everyone. Although not laminated, this project is a show vehicle so it'll remain indoors most of the time and should last quite a while without
  6. Dirty Font ID

Can someone please let me know which font this is? I've run it through whatthefont and nothing even close came up... Thanks in advance!
  7. Ideas...Gloss black on flat black

Awesome we will give this a shot. My only other idea was to print solid black and laminate with matte film (so its laminated) and then print the pattern in black onto the matte lam (exposed). But I suppose that's the same as printing to already matte black vinyl.
  8. DX2 print head

I've always been curious...are the products on Solventinkjet.com GENUINE OEM Roland parts?
  9. Ideas...Gloss black on flat black

The problem with this job Mosh is that it's a small repeating pattern of a customer's logo (think gucci or louis vuitton for example) to be glossy on the matte film. I'd imagine the logos to be 1" or so...pretty small. Maybe print black once, return to origin...if it doesn't look glossy...
  10. Ideas...Gloss black on flat black

Thinking more into this...what if we took Matte Black 3M 1080 Film and only printed the black pattern to it -- Roland Eco-Sol is pretty glossy even when shot to matte film.
  11. Ideas...Gloss black on flat black

Hey guys! Got a request today for Gloss black pattern on flat black. My first thoughts were gloss black die cut vinyl over flat black sheet of vinyl....second thoughts were print solid black on matte finish vinyl on a Roland UV Printer and print the pattern itself in clear UV only. Can...
  12. VersaWorks Preferences "Preview-Quality" ??

I've always passed over this option since I never really saw a difference when I changed the options, but maybe someone here can give me a rundown. In VersaWorks under the General Tab there's a section titled "Preview" with options for Quality and a check box to enable monitor proofing. I've...
  13. Smoked Transparent Vinyl

8300. We double it up if it needs to be super dark, although it gives off a silverish appearance in certain lighting up close. Even tho it's not cast, it heats and stretches surprisingly well.
  14. Interioir vinyl on sheetrock. Recomendations

If it's going on a textured wall Rapid Air is completely unnecessary...is it permanent?? If so, 3165+Lam -- but don't expect there to be paint or texture if it ever gets removed. otherwise phototex is highly recommended on this site (be carefuly tho, it's hardly opaque)
  15. How many of you actually use PerfCut?

Hahaha our first attempt -- FAILLLLEEDDDDD. The paper was cutting, samples looked great, BUT maybe someone here can offer some guidance. We printed a sheet of 6"x2.5" Stickers We used the roland recommended settings 1" with .020" perf It got about three of them done cutting perfectly, and then...
  16. banding problem roland xc 540

I don't care what anyone says, I think oracal changed 3164 last year too and never told anyone...all the sudden their 3164 profile can't hit a nice solid black - it's splotchy now. I want answers too!!!
  17. How many of you actually use PerfCut?

I just so happen to have an order tonight where the customer wants a black sticker sheet where a couple of die-cut stickers peel off the one sheet. Going to use the perf cut for the outer shape tonight and Thinking it'll definitely save me some time instead of having to hand cut up to the edge...
  18. How many of you actually use PerfCut?

Good to know...we do a lot of 1000 sticker runs for customers and always wondered if this would save any kind of time. We are pretty quick at cutting them individually (not as quick as a SHEER!!) but not sure if machine time double cutting everything is worth it?
  19. Banding issues

I noticed a lot of the STRONG colors in the color charts banded on our SP and a buddie's XC540...
  20. Soljet XF

NOTHING will beat the reliability of a Roland. And a smart man in the area once told me, it doesn't matter what the price tag of the machine is, it matters how fast it'll make you money. If you're a high enough volume shop to need an XF--- good chances are, you'll have it paid off in the first...
