  1. Recomendatios Chinese Printer DX5 head

i'm building a 2.2m * 7m flatbed right now for doing tile murals and such. but still in general, i've been an artist for 32 years, will complete my life with another 35 years or so years of being an artist. one of the things about the "way to money" is to be excited about your product. so...
  2. Recomendatios Chinese Printer DX5 head

the last time i read anything about the printer, the price was $85,000. if it was $40k, i'm sure their would be some decent sales. currently the inventor and his investors are in a bitter court battle about mishandling of funds, etc.
  3. Recomendatios Chinese Printer DX5 head

i'm just burned out. been in the inkjet/CMYK business for about 14 years straight. printed substrates are a commodity and there will be a glut of used flatbeds over the next 5 years. the art business is almost destroyed by the digital age (and even i had my own tiny bit to do with it). so...
  4. Major JV33-160 printing problem

are you in absolute color? if so, switch to something else and see if it mysteriously disappears.
  5. Mimaki JV3 Nightmare

i'd bet that board has been repaired. with the M data banding? or the M head banding with different data. by error report you mean error 07?
  6. Mimaki JV3 Nightmare

first off get your spare mother board repaired and put it on ebay. ...couldn't tell from the message, ..you put new heads all the way across?
  7. Recomendatios Chinese Printer DX5 head

i could put a memjet to work. but i'm slowly getting out of the cmyk business, maybe the inkjet business. my main buyer is getting an fb500 to knock off "art", this trend will occur across my industry. so i'm going to get over in to the glass/tile decoration side of the industry.
  8. Prices have come waY dowN . . . Damn!!!!!

it looks like about $10k worth of printer. i'd bet over the next five years as new models come out and current inks die out, that this model would suffer harsher depreciation than other industrial built models.
  9. Recomendatios Chinese Printer DX5 head

they had one advertised at 3.3m last year... 1.8, 2.2, 2.6, and 3.3 (the 2.6m is missing from one brochure). at this size, it doesn't seem like dx5 would be the best print head... who is going to observe the print that closely at these huge widths? currently in the 2000 series wit-color...
  10. Hello from Mexico

i'm just wanting to get out early and build a studio with international distribution before the USA's dollar collapses. it will be pretty hard for one to "cash out" when things weird. year around 77-85 in the day and 45-55 at night sounds pretty sweet too.
  11. Hello from Mexico

hello form texas! i am jealous, you live in the best part of mexico. hope to move there someday.
  12. solvent resistant tubing

    smallparts.com has it
  13. Direct Color Systems 1324 - any feedback?

this model is advertised on alibaba. a lot of the printers are popping up with built in monitors. there is probably a pc in there and the menu is some simple program gui.
  14. CJV30 switching paint

correct. just prepare a grayscale file, set your rip to grayscale to isolate the black channel (each rip does this a little differently) and you are printing white.
  15. CJV30 switching paint

here's some photos of the white cartridge set up. i also included some carriage shots. don't mind all the customizations to the carriage. just giving you a detail of my kit. your printer would need one white ink cart and then split the line to the two channels (K) a the dx5 dampers. the...
  16. CJV30 switching paint

i print white about once a month. so i put an auxiliary cartridge on the outside of my printer and run it to my black channel. the whole routine takes about 10 minutes to switch to white and 10 minutes back to black. considering the hours and hours of time saved by printing in dual cmyk, the...
  17. JV3 160sp

you can switch out the springs for a stronger ones. all my springs on my jv3 are switched out. take out a spring, when at the hardware store (the good stores have a drawer with a zillion springs) match the general circumference, get springs that are a little stiffer. if you can match the...
  18. Jeti parts from Agfa Guess how much..

some tech needs to quit his job and start an aftermarket flatbed parts website. the basic consumables, motors, belts, and such. reading these posts is what caused me to avoid a "real flatbed" a super tiny shop like mine with sales of $8k-$12k a month would be flattened with a single repair.
  19. Print head - up close and personal

way easier than it sounds. unhook each damper in any order. pull gently and firmly straight up, no twisting off. there is a tab on the back that you can get at with some needle nose pliers (shut down, unplug, and press your front power button a few times before starting). unscrew the...
  20. Latex ink for your Roland, Mutoh, Mimaki

if you have the table height, just build an accessory vacuum platen. you might just be able to get away with a lid that has a seal that sticks to the glass. the glass would act as great zero flat bottom. i'd make it out of aluminum covered with ceramic fiber board/paper, with hardwood sides...
