  1. Color Management For Idiots

What are the differences in the things? Every web site I've looked at seems to treat 'em like the customer already knows everything... The low end eye-one runs about $900ish, right?
  2. Skin tone problems

I learned this the other day! I learned this the other day! From here! If the drop is on an unprinted area, just a q-tip and some cleaning solution, and you can make it go away. Won't work in a printed area.
  3. Color Management For Idiots

Stupid question time... I'm printing into an 8 color Epson 9800 and a CMYK Mutoh Jr. (dang, that's easier to type...). My primary concerns are around the Mutoh - the stuff I'm using with the 9800 tends to have at least decent generic profiles available. So, what's a good gizmo? Can...
  4. ENCAD VinylJet 36 COLOR Sign Printer

Don't forget to check compatibility with existing RIPs...
  5. How many folks are using dual-monitor setups?

I've actually been thinking of sooner or later trying to splice this puppy into an HDTV... I've got an S-video I could run into my 92" projector screen, but from where I've got my office, the closer 21" looks larger...
  6. How many folks are using dual-monitor setups?

I've got a buncha 21" trinitron CRTs (mostly Dell). Wanted two of 'em. Stumbled on a local auction. Bought a truckload (hey, the price _was_ right...). Anyone in St. Louis want a really cheap big monitor?
  7. How many folks are using dual-monitor setups?

I've done it for years... Work in one screen, have the toolboxes and e-mail in the other... Scored some 21" trinitron CRTs in an auction, and I'm thinking of going to four screens...
  8. Going on vacation...what do I do with my printer?

Ran into this for Epson inkjets... Maybe if the guy learns that there is a BIG market, he'll crank out some code that'll work with our machines... Wouldn't hurt to drop a line... http://www.harveyheadcleaner.com/
  9. Cutting Master 2 & Corel Draw X3

When I did the layout in Corel, with contour lines, and saved as a Version 8 file (WHAT IS UP WITH SAI? VERSION 8?), and opened it in Photoprint (aka, Flexi on the short bus...), I had to redo the contour stuff...
  10. Cutting Master 2 & Corel Draw X3

No work. The type 1 reg marks seem to work better than the type 2, but the dang thing still can't find it's butt with both hands...
  11. Cutting Master 2 & Corel Draw X3

Hokayfine... It's 12:39 central time, the last banner of the day is almost through printing, and then I'll load in some vinyl... I've taken what I had in Corel (actually some jpegs with contour circles that I drew in...) and moved it to PhotoPOS DX 5.0, and it's set up and ready to print/cut...
  12. Cutting Master 2 & Corel Draw X3

I installed the driver that Graphtec sent me... And the Scanvec Amiable driver. Is there a different one?
  13. Cutting Master 2 & Corel Draw X3

I'm gonna set up some bloody SQUARE dealies, and see if it can do that... I will say that the x/y stuff in the plotter controller is muy freakazoidal... Heck - give it to me in Spanish or Chinese - don't make me decipher bad pictures for your interface...
  14. Cutting Master 2 & Corel Draw X3

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm getting... If you call 'em, could you share? I gotta run out on a job...
  15. Cutting Master 2 & Corel Draw X3

Problem is that the ARMS is blowing right past/OVER the second mark...
  16. Cutting Master 2 & Corel Draw X3

Bob, why the type 2 marks? BTW, I'm having the same problem... I can get the thing to find the first mark, then it goes hunting... Out of state... Same problem with type 1 and type 2 reg marks. Tried the box thing too... I've squared up the vinyl, double-checking by running back/forth...
  17. Fine horizontal lines near one roller?

Did it on thinish vinyl too... I'm thinking that you may be right... Where's my hammer... BTW, my New Favorite Tool is one of the Surefire tactical lights... You can see things you didn't care existed...
  18. Fine horizontal lines near one roller?

Also, if the head's crudded, why isn't it doing it all the way across the vinyl? Why just in the one area? The lines are perpendicular to the head movement...
  19. Fine horizontal lines near one roller?

Oh joy... Now to figure out how to look under the head... (maintenance manual, here I come...)
  20. Fine horizontal lines near one roller?

Okay - degunked the bejeezwhozis out of 'em, and the q-tips are coming clean, so something else is going... Yup. Didn't solve the problem... Actually, the lines look sorta multi-colored... but each line is also straight... Could this be some sorta headstrike? Picture enclosed, and I...
