  1. Fine horizontal lines near one roller?

Okay... If anyone searches for this and finds this in the future. They call them rollers because they ROLL when you've got them lifted. Just take Mr. Q-tip, and swab at them, and they'll turn freely. It's _amazing_ how much gunk you'll get of the "clean" ones, and the dirty ones are truly...
  2. Fine horizontal lines near one roller?

Oh yeah - the lines are fairly uniform, and look like they are made by some sorta multi pizza cutter... Can't really see a lot around the rollers, and I'm thinking that they're buried somewhere in the maintenance manual, cuz I ain't found 'em yet...
  3. Fine horizontal lines near one roller?

BTW, any hints around cleaning the things? Bogie has fat fingers... And while I splurged on a maintenance manual via the 'Bay, I really don't wanna take the whole mess apart today...
  4. Fine horizontal lines near one roller?

Oh, doh.. We had a power "oh bleep" the other day, and when it came back on, it ran the banner back through... Thanks! I'm just so used to the Epson aqueus printers, where the stuff is _immediately_ dry, without a whole heckuva lot of help...
  5. Fine horizontal lines near one roller?

Not banding (that goes in the _other_ direction...), but it looks like maybe the rollers are picking up ink or something... Several little hairlines after a really dense area. How bad's this news? Part of the heater? Roller?
  6. Stupid Media Width Question (Falcon Outdoor Jr/Rockhopper38)

Hokay - measured it... Catalog said 39" width is 38...
  7. Stupid Media Width Question (Falcon Outdoor Jr/Rockhopper38)

Yeah, well, the nice people didn't wanna cut it down to size... I'm printing 13oz for _occasional_ outdoor use... These are going to get put up at target matches, etc., hang outside motorhomes, and come down when the thing's over...
  8. Stupid Media Width Question (Falcon Outdoor Jr/Rockhopper38)

Cool... I was worried that stuff would fall outside the rollers, but it's still good... This'll let me bleed some larger banners... BTW, running the Seattle Textile 13oz matte banner material that my photo guy is flogging, using an Oracal 3651 profile, ink limits set at 85% across the board in...
  9. Stupid Media Width Question (Falcon Outdoor Jr/Rockhopper38)

Okay... Specs say 38". What happens if I stuff in a roll of 39" wide material? Just nothing printed at that end, or bad catastrophic craziness?
  10. Teach me about the ink limit settings on my Photoprint DX...

Looks like mo-money... Oh boy... Maybe in a coupla weeks... In the event you were printing on something without a profile, and you don't have a suitable gizmo yet, what would you do? (I've got this roll of Seattle Textile banner stuff that my local photoboyz had on sale...). And I've gotta...
  11. Teach me about the ink limit settings on my Photoprint DX...

Hey, eventually... I haven't been able to find an overall setting in Photoprint yet... I'll keep looking. Thus far, and I'm down to 85 (as I progressively do signs that are going further down the road...), things are looking better overall. I know, I know... No profile by eye... I'm gonna...
  12. Teach me about the ink limit settings on my Photoprint DX...

Hokay - fiddled some with some settings... I'm printing some outdoor signs on LG3810 (or whatever the stuff is...). Downloaded the profile, etc., installed it in Photoprint DX, etc. "Out of the box," the settings were at 100% across the board. Darn fine coverage for big lettering tho... And...
  13. Teach me about the ink limit settings on my Photoprint DX...

I'm into tweaking the thing a little. The thing has pretty fair quality - better than an Encad I had a few years back, but not quite up to my Epson...
  14. Cutting Text (Specifically O and R)

Who sells the teflon strips for the CE-5000 120s?
  15. Lava Inks

I think I'm going to try the cartridges - has anyone used their bulk ink setup yet?
  16. Okay - somewhat up and going...

Okay... While waiting for a buncha stuff to print, I finally got the darn thing working... I think the Graphtec software from SAI wasn't playing too nicely with my Photoprint DX 5.0... If I load the production manager from that tho, things seem to work pretty much okay, altho I still don't have...
  17. Cutting Text (Specifically O and R)

Could the problem be with Comic Sans? (heh...) So, faster might be better? I cut my speed way down from the defaults...
  18. Aargh... Adobe customer support...

Had one of my computers shoot craps this past week... Bought a new one. License says I can install on two machines. Kinda hard to uninstall from old one. Called customer service. Got some guy who was HIGHLY disturbed that I introduced myself as "Chuck," but the name on the reg was...
  19. Harbor Freight Industrial Sewing Machine

http://www.harborfreightusa.com/usa/itemdisplay/displayItem.do?itemid=3914 They're importing one... Looks like it might be interesting, but is only single needle. I'm guessing you'd also pretty much _have_ to buy the stand. I don't trust their "digital" stuff, but anything that they could...
  20. Price difference?

I bought mine local, but paid pretty much listish... Figured I'd get a bit better service. We'll see... My Mutoh only photoprint conflicted with the cutting master software, so, time to upgrade. Got my Photoprint DX 5.0v3, and had to call SAI to get a driver for the thing - it wasn't on the...
