  2. computer/signlab9 help

Like CreatedDesigns said, the system builder skimped on the design of this system. Almost every hardware manufacturer makes and sells "good, better, best" levels of hardware and it appears that your systems were built with the "good" level. With this level of hardware, you can expect failures...
  3. Illustrator vs. Gimp

^ This is a good idea. ^ I am a fan of Adobe products, but if you are a Flexi shop, teaching him to use Flexi may be more productive.
  4. Need help with my reds

I doubt that this is an issue with your design program. This sounds like a profile issue. You need to find (or make) good profiles for your RIP/printer/media. Reds (along with a few other colors) are hard with the wrong profiles.

To my knowledge, Signlab is a 32 Bit app, but it should still benefit from 8GB of RAM (vs 4GB). The OS, background apps, and other running apps will use a good deal of the installed memory and having 8GB will leave more RAM for Signlab to use. Judging purely by what you have posted (and it is...

  11. What programs to use.

Wow, that is a loaded question and you are going to get a lot of passionate responses here. Actually, I don't think that the way you are doing it isn't all that bad. Flexi for the vector and sign stuff and PS for the raster and wrap design. It is also a great idea to learn Illustrator. As...

  15. Photoshop files... Who else hates 'em?

Some of those "problems" are the designer's fault (or laziness), but some of them are just standard Photoshop techniques. I would guess that if you were versed in Photoshop, you may understand why the files are setup this way and how to work with them in a timely manner. Please don't take this...

  18. I need Flexisign any help?

Yeah, probably just an older version that is not compatible with your new OS (Win 7). I would not run Flexi v7.anything on Windows 7. The first stable version on Win 7 is v8.5+ and even then you run into dongle driver issues and have to upgrade the driver.

  20. Corel user input needed

I really try to stay away from online backups for graphics. The files are larger than most and can take a while to upload to the cloud. Downloads are better than uploads (in general), but are still relatively slow in the event that you run into a catastrophic failure on your storage device and...
