So what do these inks cost per liter?

Which inkset was your Mimaki running? (Eco or Mild solvent?)
  3. Questions on working with warm laminator.

Looks like dust beneath the lam? I know this time of year starts causing trouble with laminate because of the dry air and static...
  4. Did I get a bad roll of media? Orajet 3751 RA

Hmm, I'm wondering if they have changed the formulation somehow? Although, the other posters above were talking about this problem much earlier in the year...
  5. Did I get a bad roll of media? Orajet 3751 RA

Sure did. My Fellers rep put me in contact with the regional sales person who then turned over my info to Timothy Wright a product support specialist. Tim contacted me yesterday morning and sent me the newest updated profile for this material. Unfortunately, even that failed to produce usable...
  6. Question on Material choice

Again, I'd probably still go with something with a removable adhesive just to be safe - especially since it's temporary. You can always go with a cheap economy vinyl with permanent adhesive but it will fight you when you go to remove. Just my .02¢
  7. Question on Material choice

Your description is a little vague. What type of walls, drywall, concrete, metal...? What is the material on the bathroom doors, metal, plastic, wood...? Also, will YOU have to remove these in a few months, or will they do it? To be safe, I'd use something with a removable adhesive like an...
  8. Did I get a bad roll of media? Orajet 3751 RA

Well, I had high hopes of resolving this issue, but it appears even with the most recently updated profile from Oracal, this stuff just won't print on my VJ 1604. THIS is how my roll of 3751 printed using the most recent 3751 profile.. Notice the banding, speckling/gritty adn washed out print...
  9. Did I get a bad roll of media? Orajet 3751 RA

Yes, appears to be the majority of the responders to this thread are running solvent or eco-solvent machines (Mutoh, Roland, Mimaki, Epson) and all appear to have/had issues with this film across the board. I find that it is interesting that it isn't just focused on one machine or type of RIP...
  10. Did I get a bad roll of media? Orajet 3751 RA

Wanted to dig up this thread because I tried printing 3751 RA for the first time for an upcoming box truck wrap yesterday. I spent more than half a day, and wasted about 25' of the roll trying to find some type of profile that would work with my Mutoh 1604 before giving up. I downloaded the...
  11. Advice on new cut machine

Another vote for Summa. Top notch tech service if you ever need it, and very reliable, well-built equipment.
  12. Anyone have alternate phone# for Signs365??

Just heard back, apparently they are dealing with a power outage in their front office. A rep. just called me on his cell phone. Not sure how long this will last, but they can now communicate online in case anyone needs to know.
  13. Anyone have alternate phone# for Signs365??

Had a customer place a big rush order over the weekend for some very large banners needed by Wednesday. Have been trying to reach Signs365 since 9AM and can't get through on the phone (Says all circuits busy) and have had no response on their website customer portal either. Usually they're...
  14. Opinion of Sign permit and inspectors, whats the limits?

In the town I'm located, I feel they (zoning and ARB) are more worried about "looks" than "safety". I feel I honestly could go and install a rickety POS on the side of a building with velcro and duct tape, and as long as it used colors from their approved palette, an approved layout with...

Wow, talk about some sand...screw 'em.:noway:
  16. Street Banner Woes

I had a thread a year or two ago where I made a 4' x 20' over the street banner on 18oz herculite banner. We sewed seat belt type webbing into the hems around all 4 sides, double reinforced all 4 corners, and used extra large grommets (their request) every 2' all the way around. Guess what...
  17. Post "YOUR" business logo

Here's mine, been using it for over 3 years now - nailed it down with help from several here at S101.
  18. 24"Wx36"H real estate sign frame

Also, Grimco has them as a slide-in H-Frame, but they also have a 6" rider at the bottom - not sure which you need.
  19. 54 or 63

I've got a Summa D140 (54") and after owning a 64" printer for almost two years I can say I've never needed it. Though I worried about it a little at first, the only material I run regularly at 64" is banner. All my adhesive vinyl I purchase is 54". Your situation may be different...
  20. XJ-640 with Summa D140r

Can't say on the Roland, but my D140 has been a tank with only a few minor issues over the past 2 years that I can count on one hand. (software related, not mechanical) I cut regular vinyl using Winplot and then do contour cuts through Wastach Softrip. Fast, accurate, OPOS is the best there...
