  1. Package project

Maniac, I just wanted to say I have always admired your work. In every instance it seems to perfectly suit the use and need it was designed for, and of course that is the mark of a true sign maker in my book. Good stuff.
  2. Shovelhead

Just wanted to convey my sympathies. I really didn't have the privilege to know him personally, but have read some of his posts. He seemed like a unique individual, and I am sorry our paths never crossed. Wishing the best for him and his family and friends...
  3. Cutting issue - camm-1

I used to have a CX-300 and one day it did the same thing yours is doing. It is going past the magnet and not reading it. You need to get a new pinch roller sensor. Cost here in USD was about $50.00.
  4. Mutoh VJ1204 missing black nozzles only

Realize that there are 2 drain lines on a 1204 MS. Fluid can still drain through one side or the other if one tube is blocked. Typically, what experiences blockage first is the black/blue line - probably because the density of the ink of those 2 colors vs Magenta/Yellow. An easy way to test...
  5. 2 part business forms

Your local print shop should be able to take care of these for you. Otherwise search for carbonless forms or NCR forms through google. Should pull up a ton of options for you.
  6. maintenance help Mutoh VJ 1324

The cap is what you are referring to. It can be purchased as a separate item for about $75-100. Though if your printer is only a few months old, it is doubtful you need to. A complete maintenance station should be replaced every 1.5-2 years in my opinion. With these VJ printers most bad...
  7. Making business cards at your shop?

Here is a step by step on how large companies like VistaPrint, 4-over etc. would run their cards....enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIBD-1zcSfQ *As others have said, trying to make money on cards and not doing them with this kind of setup and volume is near impossible.
  8. Mutoh running short on magenta ink?

On both my 1204 and 1604 magenta is the highest used color. I typically use 2-3 liters of magenta for every 1 liter of black in the same period of time - if that gives you any comparison. Again, I am using bulk, but experienced the same thing using OEM cartridges. *As for an ink shortage, I...
  9. CET Flatbed Printer Electrical Issues

I've been following this thread with much interest as well, mainly because of my friendship with Mike at Insignia who is a great guy and straight shooter. I can only imagine the stress and money this whole mess has cost him and his company and I wish for nothing more than for him to get back on...
  10. Business card printer

Really depends on volume. For several years we had good luck with Konica Minolta 6500 with Creo RIP. However, just not enough money in biz cards these days to justify it anymore. Sub your stuff to 4over, etc. and forget it.
  11. CET Flatbed Printer Electrical Issues

Wow, I remember only a short time ago how many (Mike included) were very excited by what they saw in CET flatbeds and were eager to give this company a chance. Very disappointing to read about all these troubles and to hear CET isn't willing to back up what they sold everyone. Really hope...
  12. Need a new setup soon

I've been a Mac guy loooong before they were cool. My first Mac was an lcII bought in 1992 that had a screaming 25mhz processor and 16MB (Not GB) of ram. :Big Laugh Anyway, I used to carry a Macbook Pro back and forth to the office to work at home, etc. This spring I bought a refurb iMac -...
  13. CMYK not original...vj1204

Yeah, I've seen this floating around. My biggest problem was the guy who offered it to me wanted like $200-$300 to unlock it. Not worth that IMHO. :noway: I've had a few "Not original" card issues creep up from time to time, but I have a 1" stack of cards and if one doesn't work, I just...
  14. Old Screen Printing Equipment - what is this??

Pierce looks to still be in business, though your machine looks to be a very old model. Here is a link on ebay for a current one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pierce-Score-and-Perf-Machine-/151087452556?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item232d83918c *As with any piece of equipment, it has to work to be...
  15. Old Screen Printing Equipment - what is this??

I don't know about the rest, but the green piece is definitely a slitter/scoring machine which is commonly used in offset world. Good for scoring perfs in raffle tickets, punch out's etc. Also, used for scoring heavy card stock for making folders, invitations, etc...
  16. Mutoh 1204 HELP!!! Pretty Please! Anyone!

No offense, but you're being way to vague to do anything more but guess here. OK, so you've replaced the printhead and cables, why? Did it stop printing before and this is why you did that? Or was something else to blame? When you replaced the head, did you make sure the machine was...
  17. Heat transfer printable vinyl..... Which one?

I have a 1204 and a 1604 - but should be same ink as your falcon. I actually don't have a specific profile for the Siser, but I experimented and got the best results and density using a 1440x1440 profile for 3M IJ-180. A little slow, but I don't crank out a ton of tees.
  18. [KCMY]S/C ReadErr on a Mutoh 1204

Always go for the easy fix first. You're welcome. :thumb:
  19. Heat transfer printable vinyl..... Which one?

Yup, that is all we use here and it prints really nice with our Mutohs.
