  1. Employee Woes

I didnt read any more of your post, nor the replies (no disrepect to anyone, just got home and busy/tired). but im responding because i was just having a conversation with another great peer of mine who is kinda going through this issue that i quoted. i let him know that consistency is a very...
  2. L25500 curing temp cold spot

That element went out in two of our three units at 60k sq/ft like clockwork. The third isnt there yet, but Im expecting it to do the same. It was $2200 to replace. If you havent done so already, I would purchase the extended warranty. We learned our lesson and now all our machines stay in...
  3. Ink Management

Calderas easy color, which is a rebranded Barbieri unit is capable of profiling translucent and is much more reasonable for the harware/software package. I would look into it if you do a lot of translucent materials.
  4. Barbieri spectro swing

i have the caldera easy color witch is a cobranded barbieri spectro swing. i have NOT profiled translucents. but i have used it to profile all our materials and it supposed to be fully capable of translucent read. it was part of the reason why i bought it. if you have any questions, give me a...
  5. Matching color on L26500's and LX850

i thought the same thing. the problem is, especially with the latex, different heads have different deterioration which causes different head voltages. one profile for multiple machines wont work. we profile each media separate on each machine so that the spectro reads independently. this is...
  6. Matching color on L26500's and LX850

you will need a spectro setup like the caldera easy color and will need to profile each machine with its own profile. the easy color spectro will adjust the printers output based on the targets printed and will make the necessary corrections to bring the color/s into spec.
  7. What do I do?!

my humble advice, as well as what i would do in the situation is very simple. let your attorney handle it. i dont care what the situation is, when someone threatens legal action, it is immediately forwarded to our attorney. thats is why we retain him. there are no questions asked, and and no...
  8. thinking of tweaking my logo (opinions)

i honestly like your original one without the oval stuff in the background. just the text of the wraps ink.
  9. Going from Onyx to Caldera

you can profile in caldera but you will need a spectro. i would recommend the caldera easy color as its automated which takes a ton of the labor out of scanning the targets. works well so far for us. it aint cheap, but it works good.
  10. Which RIP for HP 260 Latex - are RIPs available by trial

i think you will find instantly that the ease of use between the two programs will be night and day. we tried both. onyx, we felt was a nightmare to use. caldera, much easier. many other shops i have talked to have felt the same way and have also converted over to caldera.
  11. Have you seen this driving down the road?

lol. i thought something in that pic looked a little... well, unbalanced
  12. Avery certified? Good or bad?

as far as what interests me in any of these programs is the knowledge gained from being around some of the other great installers in the industry. if nothing more than to go and learn a thing here or two, for the price paid, its money well spent.
  13. Avery certified? Good or bad?

yeah i heard you get a bunch of stuff that easily makes up for the initial cost. just curious on the training part... how was it? that seems to me like a great class to take with all the color change and chrome calls we get but turn down because im not really focused on the color change stuff...
  14. Time to take them out of my daily sight and remembrance of how much spent....

LOL. i had probably 6-7 mutohs. i lost count. and i wondered the same thing as you. i felt so bad throwing in the trash/dump. i thought about making a fort out of them. staples may take them. and give you a credit. or any other office supply store. we run the hp latex's now. when the rep...
  15. Avery certified? Good or bad?

i look at it like this. if i get the chance to hire a qualified installer for a job and he is good and i am good, we both share techniques that each other didnt know. anytime you can be around other installers that are good at what they do, if you pick up one, or maybe two or three new...
  16. Cheaper version of the Sooper Edge Ruler

at the price them sell them at, an extra or two would be a good addition to any shop. get your sooper and order one of these and you will be like wow. its like twice the aluminum, they are big and work well.
  17. $100k to cover a Camaro in chrome? Sign me up!

looks wrapped to me. you can see the imperfections in the wrap. if that was a chrome paint job you wouldnt see that. im pretty sure the $100k was the price of the total customization of the car.
  18. Caldera Driver Error!!!

yeah if your printing/printer is a grand format which yours is, you will need to upgrade to grand rip if you dont already have it. kevsign is correct.
  19. Cheaper version of the Sooper Edge Ruler

just check ours. they all seem fine. but man! those little rubber bars on the bottom sure grip MUCH better than the rubberized shelf liner material on the bottom of our sooper edge.
