  1. Signs101 WRAP CONTEST

Finished this one today... Pizza Compadre Logo & Wrap Design, Prints & Installation: GFX Wraps Vehicle: A giant TURD of a Chevy cargo van Disassembly, Prep, Installation and Reassembly: 1 Day I think we should win some kind of award for biggest pile of crap wrapped.
  2. Tryna' wrap your wheels?

OMG these are PERFECT. We just wrapped a van for a pizza shop and the owner asked me if we could make his wheels look like pizza pies. I told him we could probably fabricate something but I'd look into it... then BOOM I see this thread.
  3. Since I was called out.......................

I find the illustrated rendering of this man's gluteus maximus falling off to be quite offensive and frankly, pornographic. I wish to issue a citizen's infraction upon fmg.
  4. Since I was called out.......................

Whoa wait a minute. Were those abusive PMs from Bradster? Shocking.
  5. New Logo

I like it. I'd lose the bevel though. Less is more. Marlenes tips for clean up are spot on, too.
  6. The latex. Wanna know what it's about?

How many friggin threads are we gonna have to endure about the latex printers? We get it. They print great and they are dirt cheap. Awesome. Are you guys getting kickbacks from HP or what?
  7. Can I wrap this?

In my opinion, some jobs just aren't worth the time you will have to invest. Can you wrap that bumper in matte material in one piece... yes. Should you? No. Will it look good wrapped in matte black? That depends on who you ask and what their opinion of "good" is. In my opinion, nothing is going...
  8. Jumping on the HP Latex bandwagon

I mulled it over. The deal seemed very sweet. I just couldn't pull the trigger on this one. The printer is only 12k... but then I'd have to buy Onyx. Then there's the higher cost of ownership. A 6 color machine means more cost of consumables... more ink AND more heads. So that puts us at $14k +...
  9. Van Pricing, Where would you be?

Gotta call foul on this one. I can get behind you on charging $1k for the job for design, prints and installation. If your market will handle that price, your customer is willing to pay that price and you are covering expenses and making a profit at that price, then you are doing something...
  10. Van Pricing, Where would you be?

G:goodpost: Adtechia is 100% correct. None of us can comment on the OP's pricing without more info. To imply you can comment intelligently on his situation based on what you charge in your market with your overhead is just plain wrong.
  11. Roland Service Technician?

Yup, just call Roland. Their tech support will give you contact info for authorized repair techs in your area.
  12. Is it possible to get a print quality screenshot or screen-capture?

Phototec, you are not increasing the number of pixels in that image by viewing it at 400%. You are simply enlarging the view of the pixels. You are better off and will save yourself some time by just getting a screen cap at 100% and enlarging it in PS.
  13. HP Latex Printer arrived today...

You bought your latex printer in April and have already had to replace a head? What is the cost per head outside of the warranty period?
  14. Signs101 WRAP CONTEST

Finished this one today... Savage Pools (www.savagepools.com) Custom Pool Builder in the West Houston/Katy/Sugarland Area Toyota Tunda Full Wrap Designed, Printed & Installed by GFX Wraps! This customer fell in love with our shop truck. He wanted to duplicate the design... which of course we...
  15. Holy%%^$ never, ever seen this happen before!!!!

I can't tell you what to do, but I wouldn't let that job out of my shop. The repercussions of a bad job are far more damaging and travel much faster than positive feedback. Anything worth doing is worth doing right... anything worth doing right is worth doing right the first time.
  16. HP Latex Printer arrived today...

Anyone had a latex for a year or more that does vehicle wraps? Any feedback? The HP seems too good to be true at that price point. I hear the heads are practically disposable. Any truth to that? Pointless saving $$ on the front end if the cost of ownership is too high. Sorry, just being...
  17. Need a new digital camera...help!

That Panasonic G3 looks very enticing! I haven't read or heard anything at all on the micro 4/3 cameras. I am ready to upgrade from my crappy canon point and shoot. Anyone else have any experience with these?
  18. saying goodbye

Why do I feel like a 9 year old getting scolded by the teacher? At the risk of getting re-infracted for my previous infraction... and only because I feel very strongly that my initial post was FAR from offensive to anyone here who is actually in the printing trade... and only because I know for...
  19. saying goodbye

Hmmm Bradster strikes again. Having been the victim of one of his swollen headed power trips, I understand your frustrations John. Bottom line is, there is a right way and a wrong way to handle situations like these. I disappeared from the forums for a while after receiving a threatening...
