We have two XR640s. One pretty much only runs wraps. I keep the heater on that one at default 104/108/130. I keep the heater settings a little lower on one that we use more for often for print/lam/cut stuff. Somewhere around 96/98/118. If we need it for wraps, I'll bump it back up to help the...
I have a VP540 doing the same thing... now processing. Can't afford to throw away any more half finished material. Can't afford any down time. So, we pushed it out to the warehouse and stored it plugged in for now. We set up another XR640 in it's place. Same cabling. Same Versa. Same static IP...
A good starting point is to thoroughly read the 3M product bulletin for the media you intend to use.
Life expectancy of any media is going to vary greatly based primarily on 4 factors:
1 - Surface integrity
2 - Installation quality
3 - Daily direct sun exposure / Climate
4 - Regular cleaning...
On a corrugated metal building, what are you mounting your frame to? Are you going into the building's steel frame? Or are the corrugated panels holding all that weight?
We have never and will never use vinyl lam on perf. It doesn't look good nor does it hold up well.
You should try ClearShield Classic liquid lam. It comes in Glossy, Semi Gloss and Matte finishes. Fellers carries it, but I'm not a huge fan of Fellers. We typically get it from Advantage...
I was actually thinking 380 when they posted 480. I've never tried 480 and only tested 380 to see what it was all about. Either way, my argument still stands. The cost for vinyl and lam is significantly higher on both counts. For show cars and special projects, I'd consider it. For plumbing vans...
Who the hell can afford to use 480 to wrap a sprinter for commercial use?
Just relief cut it. If you're not good with a blade, use knifeless tape. If the trim out is still sloppy, follow ^^^ advise and overlay pin striping or mold n hold. We've never used either of those on Sprinter recesses...
Thanks! Two guys on the job site for about 2 days, give or take. Big wall installs like this with very few obstacles actually go pretty fast. It's heat rolling everything that takes forever.
UPDATE!
We completed the indoor swim school project a couple of weeks ago and I got back in to take some pictures once construction was complete. The murals turned out perfect and are holding up better than I could have hoped in the harsh, hot, super humid conditions. The client is ecstatic...
These are just generic car toppers that I can buy anywhere and stick vinyl on. I'm looking for a fabricator for a custom piece built to look like an actual crown. Dimensional foam, vacuum formed plastic... I'm open to ideas. See image for example. I'm posting here to see if any merchant members...
We are looking for a company to help fabricate a 3 dimensional custom "crown" topper for a Smart car. We will provide vector illustration. Foam or molded plastic. Possibly internally lit if molded plastic is the better option. Needs to be durable, lightweight and relatively easy to...
I would recommend strongly against removing every screw in a trailer. Those aluminum panels will likely never go back together the same and the client may end up with rattles and loose panels that were not there before. Wrap over them with 180cv3 and prime around and on every single screw.
We do murals, semi trailers, RVs and other things this tall all the time. I'm not concerned in the slightest about the 12' run.
I'm looking for feedback from anyone who might have installed graphics or murals that will exist in similar environmental conditions.
We are in the design stage of an extensive wall mural project for an indoor swim school. The common areas inside are climate controlled, but the 2 pool rooms are enclosed and not cooled. They do have cross ventilation with exhaust fans for the summer and heaters and radiant heat in the decks for...
