I rarely check in at S101 anymore and I hardly ever contribute. This thread is a perfect reason why. Jaded veterans and entitled noobs don't mix well.
Edit > disrespectful entitled noobs.
Rick, the "undislike" was totally unintentional. I must have hit it accidentally when reading the thread on my phone earlier and trying to click on your image attachment. Didn't even know there was such a button. I fixed it :)
Definitely some quality work my man! Nothing but "likes" from me!
I'm sending one of my guys up to Tulsa next week to do a wrap repair for a large fleet client. Didn't expect it to be 30 degrees when we booked it. All they have is a covered parking garage. Anyone have warm shop space in Tulsa OK we can rent for a couple of hours on Wednesday March 4?
Anyone know if it's possible to extract an ICC profile from VW on one computer and install it on another? We have an older 3M profile we use for 180cv3 that 3M doesn't have available anymore. The new profile doesn't match the old one at all. So, to be able to color match and provide consistent...
You are communicating a message that your work has no value
That may be the type of business you want to run, but not me
.. no way... no how. We add value for our clients and that value comes at a fair price that just so happens to cover our cost of goods, overhead and profit.
You're right Rick... I was thinking one thing and typed something else. What I really meant to get across in that over-simplified sentence "you can't outsource creativity" was that you can't outsource "YOU". It's the personality, creativity, flexibility, ingenuity, passion and motivation of the...
@ BigSign and Same Day Sign... You charge $10 for art and $1 a square for art respectively? How is that fair to you at all? Do you have any employees? What are you paying them per hour? If not, do you take a salary yourself? Surely $1 a square or a flat $10 doesn't begin to cover your labor...
So true and a terrible way to try and run a business, constantly second guessing your pricing structure and modifying it to try and win customers. Your pricing needs to fit your business' needs while being competitive in the marketplace. Where you want to fall in the competitive range is...
You get $10 a square for banners Jhill?? Wow.
Market average around here is $3 to $6 a square plus design time. That's a huge markup. We (generously) factor about 25 cents a square for ink. We use 13oz Forward Banner from Grimco 54"x50yd is $100 and 60"x50yd is about 16 or 17 cents a square...
Graphic Solutions Group and Advantage both carry Oracal. I'm sure they would be happy to fight for your business. We use mostly 3M products so Grimco is great.
This happened to us recently on a 20x10 we ordered from a merchant member here. The grommets were not placed on any kind of centers and the banner was about 2 inches short. We made it work, but it could have just as easily gone wrong. I don't get it. When we make banners in house, they are to...
Wow. I'm coming to this party a year late. Apologies for bumping this old thread or opening old wounds, but I really feel compelled to respond to this outrageous, unprovoked attack on Grimco.
I have been in business for 7 years. I spend a significant amount of money with Grimco annually. While...
We have a large fleet client who has one F150 they are purchasing in Dubai. We do full wraps on them including roof. Anyone have a lead on a skilled installer there?
It's been a while since I've checked in on S101. We've just been so busy. This is the first post that caught my eye, so I thought I'd chime in.
Tomorrow, it will be exactly 7 years since I registered my business entity and officially started my own sign shop / printing business. Looking back...
180cv3 / 8519 on 99% of what we do since the day cv3 came out. Not one complaint... except for the random, periodic price increases. I'm thinking with the price of oil down to a four year low, 3M should be passing along some price decreases next year!
