  1. Needing a heavy duty vinyl or just clear coat the vinyl.

I too had the same issue, but when I researched the type of vinyl that was on the vehicle from the mfg.. (Putzmeister) I found that it was a very high adhesive type of vinyl that was basically more for the screen printing industry and not available in roll form. After telling them that when...
  2. import tif file and program closes?

So what do you suppose can be the prob? these files are usually coming out of Illustrator.
  3. import tif file and program closes?

It seems my Signlab 8 does this all the time with tif files...what's the deal with that?
  4. Here's a new one that made me chuckle...

Customer emails me some very rough artwork for a decal quote. I ask quantities and sizes... customer replies...they are the size I see them on my screen.... really? How does he know what size monitor I use?
  5. Mimaki jv3 130spII - new issue today....

I ran a 70 minute nozzle wash Friday and cleaned them today...just strange how it comes out of nowhere. If I print slowly they look fine although you can still see a bit of magenta leaking out.
  6. Mimaki jv3 130spII - new issue today....

I have to reprint a few jobs as I noticed the prints look a bit fuzzy. I looked close with a magnifying glass and can see dots of magenta along one side of what should be black. I cleaned the heads but still see it. How is it that the printer was printing fine Friday and then Monday we have...
  7. working with this material?

That sign looks about 75 years old
  8. Getting shock from Maxmetal

I really dislike getting shocks, but I have noticed that the shock you get from Composite aluminum is a little different than your standard shock. I find that once the panel has gone through the laminator, the moment it leaves the metal base of the laminator is when you get hit while holding it...
  9. Farewell to a Great Companion

From what I see in the pics, this dog had a great life and you made it's stay on this earth very enjoyable and gave her a job as well. Job well done and my condolences to you and your family. I have put 2 dogs down and cry like a baby each time...they are such great friends.
  10. Longer Lasting Signs

The weakest part of the sign seems to be the printed burgundy. Can't you cut burgundy 2ml for that?
  11. top and bottom edge prints do this quite a bit!!!

Thanks guys, turned the heat down to the lowest setting and they printed perfectly.... being in a rush though, I forgot to up the cut pressure and toasted another 3 yards of reflective...is it Friday the 13th or something?
  12. top and bottom edge prints do this quite a bit!!!

Yes it is true that Duracoat can run at lower temps and usually I do. On that last run I actually increased the temp hoping it would help, but only made it worse...lowering all the way to print more. Man I hate screwing up reflective $$$$
  13. top and bottom edge prints do this quite a bit!!!

A black sharpie might fix it as far as the look, but that's all fine and dandy if you like giving your customers inferior quality goods. A black sharpie will fade within 1 week outside in the sun. These numbers go on hydro boxes and usually are on forever.
  14. top and bottom edge prints do this quite a bit!!!

here is another one...this time it got the bottom ones and the next print it got the top ones!!! jeeeez
  15. top and bottom edge prints do this quite a bit!!!

I would love to know what causes this awful print to happen on my edge le. This particular one is on yellow reflective. It appears in nearly all the bottom numbers and can occur at the top as well. I am running Duracoat super opaque black. I think it is the edges of the foil curling up or...
  16. how to deal with multi page pdf files?

Thanks James... that will work, but I just realized there is an option to select which page you want so I did that, then reimported and brought in the second page, so now both files are on 1 page I Signlab.
  17. how to deal with multi page pdf files?

This has been a persistant pain for me. If I receive a 2 page pdf file, how do I get everything on my screen without having to switch pages. I want everything together on the screen so nothing is hidden.
  18. Calling all SignLab Gurus...

I spend a lot of time diddling with that function and only to change one line of non sequential numbers and text. I guess because I do it so infrequently, it's like relearning it everytime I attempt it. The end results are worth the 4 or 5 tries getting files correct as it saves so much time
  19. I have not seen my printer ever do this before...

yes there is that white area every 12" or so through out as it was one bitmap sent 6 times...Doesn't look like it printed the last one but made all the moves like the others. What I mean by that is that it did that slow creep, then stop like it was getting ready to print again, but just didn't...
  20. programable thermostat question

it may indeed have this feature, but I have one of these to control the rooftop for the front of the unit and it is programmed to come on at the same time, yet because I came in early it had not kicked in yet...so either I have one with the feature and one without, or I am just losing my mind...
