  1. could you apply a 2ml vinyl to a wall graphic film?

It is 2 letters about 12" high. A thin looking font.
  2. Rant of the day ( cause we all love reading them)

I do... but at least I'm not a D bag
  3. Rant of the day ( cause we all love reading them)

OK I have 2 actually 1) I have a supplier that offers a wide range of all the gizmos and liquids that many large suppliers do not carry. They have so many items I sometimes order them just to see what they are all about. Back in February I needed to order something but it was a small...
  4. could you apply a 2ml vinyl to a wall graphic film?

I only ask as a client is requesting a digital print involving a real silver look, and the only way I think I can accomplish this is to print on a 3M 2ml silver. The client also wants the graphic to be removable as it will be put on drywall. I figured maybe I could print on the silver then...
  5. eco sol ink and outgassing

I generally use the outgassing myth to give myself more time.... I will say that if you have a lot of dark colours then it is wise to allow some time to dry. This morning I have job that is going to be picked up in 45 minutes... I printed yesterday and laminated this morning, but the cutter...
  6. My Gerber Edge LE is in a beeping mood lately

I know the procedure to get it to stop and run, but lately it seems to do it almost all the time. Today it did it and I opened it up and pushed all the boards snug and blew out some dust and pushed some more connections and plugged it back in and I got one job printed. When I released the 3...
  7. Phone calls

Just had the continual email questioning that started 2 weeks ago while doing graphics for a company that was selling them to someone else. I continually sent email after email asking for the pantone colours until I get an answer back that their customer needed all the stuff in 2 days...
  8. printing on a wall graphic vinyl question

I'm taking my chances with a small job we are doing. used a matte lam as some of the print is a little light and streaky looking. The matte hides it all and looks good. if they complain, we fix
  9. Very interesting - I imagine we are all throwing away hundreds of dollars a year

I switched out to JetBest inks and at first I was a little worried, but it has been 2 years with no issues that I can blame on the ink itself. prints pretty well the same as Mimaki too...no blowing the lines. Ok so having said that...There system is much better than OEM as you really don't...
  10. printing on a wall graphic vinyl question

Thanks, But I have no choice as to run a matte laminate on them. Some of the colours were very light greens and blues and just a little streaky. Matte lam will sort of blend them together.
  11. printing on a wall graphic vinyl question

Do I take it that lamination really is not necessary when using an Avery wall graphic vinyl?
  12. Gerber Edge beeps

Mine now does this more and more frequently. I have an LE and I open the lid and gently rotate the printer on its side. There are 3 screws underneath on each side and you open these panels ( more likely the one on the left side) and I ground myself and gently make sure everything is connected...
  13. Streaks In Print

For the sake of not having the headache just print on matte and laminate gloss. Someone basically gave me a cheap roll of offshore vinyl that I am sure sells for no more than $100.00 (54") and I have been using it for the cheap coro signs or for people that are just plain cheap. This stuff...
  14. Streaks In Print

I can't tell you why your getting streaks, but I have found that with my printer that printing on cheap gloss always prints crappy. I always prefer to print on a matte as I never seem to have print issues. I then can laminate it gloss or matte depending on the customers needs.
  15. easiest way to cut 1w inch signs from coro

I dont own a cnc so what is the easiest way to cut 12 inch circles from coro
  16. How do I know if the colour is printing correctly if I am only given cmyk values?

This question has probably been asked many times, but I know that when I plug in cmyk values given for jobs, that the colours in a lot of cases could print a lot better if I knew the pantone colour and matched it myself off of the pantone charts we have charts we have. So I ask this question...
  17. JV3-160 SP Not Printing at all?

I'm not sure about the wiper you use in your machine but I change mine pretty religiously as I can see that it slowly looks bowed and figure it is not squeegeeing the head properly...not sure how one would look after a year
  18. today on a very special "what's wrong with my printer?"....

I think it has to do a lot with the training we get from dealers. When I first got my printer I was the only one I knew that had this model. I ran into many issues with colour and and dealing with different types of materials. I would call them and they made me believe that I was the only one...
  19. need some help with old computer

This comp has nothing in it really ...just Omega...I bring all the files over the network and then save them again back over the network to my main comp. Come to think of it, I could probably run my Edge off the main computer seeing it sits idle most days
  20. need some help with old computer

Just a note...I can start it up in safe mode, but not sure what to do once I get to that point?
