That's helpful!
Ive seen that one on alibaba. probably 1k + delivery.
It's either that, or there's a few second hand ones that are german, but manual backstop.
Im leaning towards the manual one as it's easily serviceable.
you're comparing 2 entry levels and 1 production level machine...
What are your requirements?
A lot of inks will have certifications like greenguard gold etc. and other health and safety requirements. I know the USA are less strict vs Australia on inks though.
I forgot the CPU i came from, but it was a 4c/8t. Xeon. i was bottlenecking it so badly, it would lock up on me.
the 5950x is leaps and bounds over it.
But..
it depends on how many RIP engines you run. As signmeup says, onyx is crap at multicore. it's somewhat better these days, but still...
Which ones/brands?
I was looking at something called "500v9" there's many brands etc of this. but i cannot find anyone using one or talking about them.
Electric, hydraulic. either one. i think "electric paper cutters" are what they're called in the print world. i could be wrong.
Anyone here use electric paper cutters / Guillotines?
To cut stacks of paper or stickers etc?
Looking at options for something up to 500mm wide.
Either get a cheap old second hand one. or possibly a chinese one from alibaba,
i need something to get by for now.
Photos would help.
I doubt its the software. only time it'll be the software if you print the image more than once (2 or more copies) and the issue is exactly replicated on the next image.
I dont know the actual price. but i think your best chance to find a 3.2m printer in your budget is Funsun.
https://www.funsunsign.com/1.6m-3.2m-large-format-printer/
Don't expect much from it though. It is chinese. but it seems to be a more common chinese branded printer.
Not sure how it works where your from, but here, We have dedicated companies that only do real-estate signs.
Not even worth competing with - When the team just drives around installing signs all day. Then reuses the same board with a new print when the advertising is finished/property is sold.
You do or don't want chinese?
If you do want chinese, well i don't think you'll get much advice here. and reliability and maintenance will be terrible.
3.2m printers get expensive very quickly. What's your budget?
I don't think the americans picked up on the key word "Ute"
I would go with a Ute, as you can fit full sized sheets in it. a pallet even. And you can daily it.
I'd go with a ford ranger, like an xlt or something if you dont need anything special.
Wouldn't bother with a trailer as you always...
