  1. Aussie vehicle outlines

Sorry Steve, I've had to do the photo way also- years ago I had a few outlines on cd, but they were never of the cars I needed! I have not bought any since- just photograph the car, with a bit of mag rubber strip stuck to it as a size reference- say 1 metre long.
  2. Bitmap in AI, Help Please!

I'll second Fred's comment: why use Illy at all, with what you are wanting? Why not just use a picture editing program like photoshop?
  3. Mimaki JV2- 130- any opinions?

Thanks very much- but Doug, it IS the JV2-130 I was enquiring about! One's for sale here in Oz. All I could find on the net was that it was a 7-colour printer- the usual 6, CMYK, LC, LM, plus a pigmented black=7. It also seems obsolete I'd guess, as there are drivers for it on the mimaki...
  4. Mimaki JV2- 130- any opinions?

I'd appreciate opinions on the Mimaki JV2- 130 - problems, positives, value etc, from anyone. I did a search here and came up with nothing, which I thought was odd. Thanks!
  5. Opening Files...

If you MUST have layers in it, and it WILL open a tiff, then save the psd file as a layered Tiff. Try opening that. Why do you need such a big bitmap pic in a vector program? Try lowering the resolution or reducing the number of layers. What's the finished size of the Illy file? I've had 60...
  6. trying to cut detailed graphic

60 degree blade, 3M 7725 cast vinyl on clear backing, and try not to go too small, but that combination will work better than any other I know if you have to go small. What software & version are you using?
  7. Roland Camm-1 serial cable pinouts here!

I hope that helps any enthusiastic people who may wish to make their own in an emergency!
  8. Hi, got a couple questions....

Try generating a colour C66, M66, Y66, K255 and see how that goes.
  9. Photoshop question

I was going to say the same as above- Brightness/contrast is the worst way of achieving an improvement, (it's irreversible, and data at extreme ends of the scale is lost forever) but if that suits you, the auto-levels shortcut (ctrl-shift-L) might suit you, and make that into a droplet which...
  10. Roland PNC1100 user manual

Email me if you need a manual for the pnc1000- I don't have the 1100 though. OP, you may want to recheck the spelling of ROALAND !!!
  11. HP DesignJet 750C Plus

I'm in the process of getting a refurbished 650C. I was told that Post script is standard on the 750C, but an optional plug-in Dimm with the 650C. Apparently the same module will work in either- does anyone know? The paperwork says you can print up to 50 feet on the roll, in one go- or is...
  12. Hi, got a couple questions....

Or you could just ask for your $20 back...!
  13. ROLAND PNC-1000 / service manual / help!

Email me with your email address, and I'll send you the manual- it's a 5 meg zipped pdf. But, as OP says, it's useless in this case. There's a gremlin in the system,... It may be a setting on the panel?
  14. Help!!! Paragraph text problems in P'shop

Got it!!! The paragraph text attributes were set for leading to be 499 points, instead of <auto>. Thanks for prompting me into figuring it out, Doug!
  15. Help!!! Paragraph text problems in P'shop

Thanks Doug- I've been offline trying again. I'll check your post there, but I headed to Indesign to work there (as P'shop refused to comply!)- applying the background, P'shp'd pix, and text as text instead.
  16. Help!!! Paragraph text problems in P'shop

I am finding it a pain-if I cut and try to paste text into a layer on a pic, it all lands in one superlong line that runs off the pic. If I click to drag a paragraph text box, and click to paste text into that, the top line lands there, and that's it- the next seems to be below the bottom, in an...
  17. RapidTac Is Our Newest Merchant Member!

HI Roger and Jeff, I'll email you about that- we did correspond about it ages ago, and I haven't forgotten. I just have some pressing things to do here, and I'll get back in touch. Thanks!
  18. RapidTac Is Our Newest Merchant Member!

Dave, I''m still wondering about getting a box of assorted RT products shipped out- for our LetterheadsOz, but haven't started to look at costs yet- nor have I spoken to Roger recently either- just very preoccupied with stuff closer to home at the moment! edited to add: Welcome, Jeff & Roger!
  19. Roland XC 540???

HI Blizzard, where in Oz are you from? If you use the <search> button at the top of the page, and search for Xc 540, even without the word Roland, you'll get four pages of past threads with information on it. Happy reading!
  20. Font Id Please

No I don't know it, but you can get close with the Clarendon family and some tweaking.
