  1. Dont care what anyone says..

Some of us don't build PC's.. we buy them. We've had very good luck with Dell going back quite a few years and many, many machines.
  2. Dont care what anyone says..

Sweet Josh! We bought an Alienware for one of our designers about a year ago. That thing screams! <cool mouse & keyboard too> lol
  3. Removing Vinyl with Scraper Blades

More great advice.. BTW, carbon steel blades will scratch glass, tempered or not. Stainless steel blades will not without a LOT of pressure.
  4. how long do you guarantee your wraps????

If you knew the first thing about me, you'd know that I'm probably one of the most involved individuals in our industry when it comes to mentoring (both receiving & giving), sharing ideas, teaching newcomers and working with the vinyl manufacturers in their R&D. Heck, we just hosted the Rap &...
  5. how long do you guarantee your wraps????

Sorry, missed this when I quoted you before. Seriously? Try telling a client who's got a bumper popping all over the place cause you installed it poorly that the vinyl's not failing--you were just learning how to install it. :banghead:
  6. how long do you guarantee your wraps????

Ignorance is not an excuse. If you don't know how to do something, don't do it. Learn the proper technique before selling subpar products to ignorant, innocent clients. Not adapting to new techniques is the installer's fault. Again, learn what you're doing. Take the time to educate yourself...
  7. How to keep birds from eating the grass seads?

And here I was always using cow poo..
  8. how long do you guarantee your wraps????

All of these fall under number 8. Period. I MIGHT let number 6 slide, as it's sometimes hard to tell when full solvents are in use if they've been fully outgassed or not (I'd bet a lot of money that in most cases they are not--most of the shops running full solvent machines are running them...
  9. Dave Drane...

    Sad. We'll miss you Dave.
  10. What do you tell the guy that wants "car graphix"

If I don't have the pinstripe roll here, I have to spend 1/2 hour with the customer picking out a color. I have to order the roll.. there goes another 1/2 hour. The guy's gonna come back in a week when we get the roll.. there goes another hour between receiving the vehicle, striping the car...
  11. How to tell a customer i am not charging them for a job

When we do these freebies we just say so. Two weeks ago it was 4:15 on Friday, we'd been getting our asses kicked for about two months straight, everyone was beat. I had just gotten off the phone with a truck driver wanting to get his truck lettered that day and told him no way. Not...
  12. What do you tell the guy that wants "car graphix"

I wouldn't do it for that, cause we'd lose money on the job. We're not setup for it. On the other hand, the pinstriper guy that'll do the car for $15 can't turn out what we can.
  13. Big Boat Graphics!!

    I'd still laminate..
  14. Scitex FB950 supplies

I dunno.. Our local distributor was bought out by Toryon earlier this year. We've always had good experiences with our guys before the purchase, and haven't had anything but good luck so far since Toryon bought them out.
  15. Scitex FB950 supplies

We buy from Toryon. They've got a warehouse in Chicago.
  16. Why does everything have a catch to it?

We're looking at building and will be around $100 a sf. Land and custom building.. Buy, don't lease!
  17. Customer with nasty B.O

We used to deal with quite a few more truck drivers than we do now. Thankfully.
  18. Why does everything have a catch to it?

Gene's right--get a broker to represent you. It won't cost you anything and they may be able to show you stuff that you're not even aware is available.
  19. how long do you guarantee your wraps????

Agree with Chris 100%. Good installers are VERY few and far between. You have to give two chits about how YOUR work looks, and you have to have the ability to install correctly. Two things that aren't common. If a wrap is going to fail it will usually show signs immediately <within 48...
  20. Zund Conveyor Belt Cut Into

Really? We've been absolutey happy with Zund America's service, knowledge, and overall experience.. The couple questions we've had were answered immediately over the phone or by remoting into our machine. We've ordered a bunch of modular parts for our machine since the initial purchase and...
