  1. Liablity insurance went from $1,900 to to $34,000!

You might check what they have you classified as doing. Our old carrier tried to classify every employee and 100% of our work as sign installation/installers. Premiums dropped a lot once we got it straightened out. Doesn't hurt to shop around though either.
  2. What could be causing this?

I saw this occur on some prints, I printed a gutter on some others but I haven't seen them yet to see if it helped. I'll have the production people pull the print out so I can look at it.
  3. What could be causing this?

Can I guess, you had a large white area before it started printing that part of the banner? Seen that same thing on our prints, don't have a reason for it though.
  4. Clear Vinyl for HPL26500

Using Oracal 3651 here right now with good results.
  5. Does anyone close for Memorial Day?

Closed here. We also are in charge of a local group that flies flags at a cemetery for veterans who have passed away. May not be working but I end up getting up earlier then usual, and working late. Though there is usually a nap somewhere in there.
  6. sign post install

Nice because you can pour, cover and leave. Don't have to worry about making up supports to hold the sign straight while the concrete hardens.
  7. Lines In Black Fill

You are getting creases in the ribbon, I think. Had this happen before, try swapping the tray the ribbon is in, be sure to swap the chip too. See if it goes away and let us know.
  8. summa S140T

Another thing, make sure the rollers are 100% centered where they are supposed to be. Had another employee that I was training on our equipment load it with one of the rollers off a hair, not enough to have the machine complain, but the roller marks were a lot more prominent until I looked and...
  9. .pub to .pdf?

There is a free add on for Publisher that will export to pdf. We have had several customers install it to supply us with a pdf file.
  10. usb printer cable

We have a 36' USB repeater cable running to a USB hub that connects our Summa plotter and DC4sx to the rip server, works great.
  11. Grimco Sale

Its tempting to sell of our 25500 and step up to one of these, so tempting.
  12. Friday Fun...

Definitely. I was at some training last weekend and the wanted us to play a "board game" printed on some canvas. My patrol mates thought I was odd for inspecting the material. When you start pointing out signs saying, "Hey I did that" to family members after hours.
  13. Application tape dispenser?

Anything larger then a couple of feet we run through our old laminator. We have our magnetic hanging off of the end of the table too, along the lines of fleming's post.
  14. Wth!!!

Had an eps file that was giving me fits yesterday, and I have a little more RAM in my rig then you do. Downloaded the ai version and it worked without issue. Sometimes the weirdest things will set Flexi off.
  15. Xerox 8265/Mutoh Rockhopper pro III - License help?

Don't you love how they try to tell you its a super complicated, only can be done by our techs problem.
  16. Gerber VS Summa

At times. It seems that the media plays a big role in how well it prints. Just did a batch of stickers, at least nine passes, and I can't tell were the seams are at. But it can happen. Like you mentioned originally, that whole 12" width thing was my big turn off to the Edge.
  17. Gerber VS Summa

We looked at both and went with the Summa. Both printers will produce good output, and I admit that the Summa can be a little fussy. But we do a lot of one color stickers with it, especially with white ink. And since its a print/cut solution we just weed and send them out the door.
  18. Touch Up Markers/Ink for Solvent Banners?

Just had to do this on a banner we printed. It was a trade for sponsorship spot and they misspelled another sponsor. Used cleaner and redid a couple of letters in Sharpie. Unless you get at the right angle, its really hard to tell.
  19. 8.6 vs 10

I guess that I never really paid attention, whenever I am opening larger files is when I check email or Signs101. I did notice that with the 10.5 PDF upgrade that sending files to the Production Manager has sped up quite a bit. And there is always the option that Auto-FX said, upgrade your PC...
