  1. Mounting Channel Letters to Brick

If you drill, think about a rotary hammer. We had a Verizon job, individual letters mounted on a brick wall, power had to be run in Sealtite, big hole for each letter. We already had the rotary, but I wouldn't of wanted to try the job without it.
  2. Clear Transfer tape?

We almost exclusively use TransferRite 1310 here.
  3. seperate contour cut results in no cuts being sent?

What version of Flexi are you running? I can't remember running into the issues you speak of in recent history.
  4. Ordering a safety ruler tomorrow. One Day Too Late!

Been there, done that. We had every other employee cut themselves to some degree with a plain ruler. Then I finally did it, about as good as yours sounded, and the employee that was helping me freaked out more then I did. Needless to say, after I marked and dated the ruler where my finger was...
  5. Large format scanning

Didn't know if anyone else here does large format scanning? We have been offering this service for almost a year now successfully, but have gotten some grumblings from the last couple queries about being to high. Didn't know what everyone else charges? We do an initial fee for the first page...
  6. KK Label Vinyl?

First thing I thought of was Sears, Kim Kardashian couldn't be making vinyl too could she? Never heard of the brand myself though.
  7. Suggestions for a bigger printer

That's why the Z6200 was out of our price range as well. Each printer we looked at printed great, it mainly came down to price and then the features each had. For the price range we were looking at HP was out because they didn't front load. Liked the Epson but didn't completely like their...
  8. Suggestions for a bigger printer

We picked up an ipf8300 last year to do some things similar to what you are wanting. Great printer, got ours through LexJet. But some of our other MM here might sell it too.
  9. Amd Fx or Intel 2nd Gen Processors

I just got the base i7-2600, think it runs $300. You can always go higher if you have the budget for it.
  10. Amd Fx or Intel 2nd Gen Processors

True that from just using your software will not be able to see a difference, the time it takes to process jobs, run that Photoshop filter, etc., is when you notice a difference. Like I mentioned in another post, my current design station with a Phenom 9850 rig takes ten minutes longer for...
  11. Amd Fx or Intel 2nd Gen Processors

For home use, in a HTPC, I'ld still use AMD. For our work computers where I am not having to get the purchase by the wife, its Intel all the way. The small difference in price isn't worth the savings when time is money and you are working on something for a customer.
  12. Flexi and Vectors

Yep, just got done with an annual job that causes me grief for said reasons. Having a top end computer does help. I did some benchmarking and though it still seems to take too long, upgrade are definitely worth it. Over 100 name badge cards with schedule on the back, names filled using Auto...
  13. 3M Electrocut - this stuff is fantastic!!!

Nice, but with as much as 3M has been jacking up their prices we switched to Oracal for 90% of our cut vinyl. I do admit though, that the clear backed vinyl is very nice to use.
  14. New Canon Machine :D :D

We have the 8300 and for its intended purpose its great. Anything outdoor gets done on the 25500.
  15. Mimaki Latex

Loved my JV3, Mimaki builds them tough, but considering the competition these days, thats nuts.
  16. RIP over network

Similar setup here, been this way as long as I can remember.
  17. HP L25500 ink question

As a note, you can set the printer to send out notices, including ink out, that way you don't have to hover over it.
  18. 3rd party ink

Nope, got at least six months before I consider it. Other then some Nick H. articles, haven't heard anything else about them.
  19. HP L25500 ink question

I have done what you are asking, without issue. Anymore though I just change the cartridge during the print. I haven't noticed any problem with our prints doing that.
  20. contour cut static cling

I have contour cut static cling in the past, but I have always reverse printed the graphics. The material we have doesn't stick to well with the front side of the media.
