Yep, AOG. My shop sign got destroyed two weeks ago by small twister. Lots of damage to older signs nearby but I was shocked by mine just basically disappearing. Half inch pvc on two sides of 4x4 posts with top and sides edged in same. All that was left was the posts.
Gino nailed it. Big boulders do the trick. We do this on quite a few entrance ways to subdivisions. Couple rocks, a few flowers, no more illegal parking or turnaround.

Media type and grit are very important. Also pressure. Glass I would imagine one ply of calendared is fine, stone takes a little longer and more aggressive plan.
I blast granite tiles for our local Am Legion Hall. I use cheap old vinyl from stock and double it. Have to adjust blade and force on cutter to accommodate but it works well for shallow blasting. More like etching really. If doing thin glass, a single layer of vinyl and etching cream works well.
Up until my printer laid itself to rest, I had not made a cut vinyl foam core or coro sign with cut vinyl in 10 years. If you have print capability it just makes sense to print 4x8 and mount then cut. Less material and time for end product. Less time = more$$.
Willing to bet you could have produced it a lot faster with a full mounted print rather than all the work cutting and taping something you printed on vinyl to begin with. You should get five of those from a 4x8 of foamcore, print six sheets, mount, cut, deliver.

Stop using soap and water. Rapid tac II is for glass and infinitely better on it than original rapid tac. Def wet the back of paper transfer tape to remove. If you wet it and let it sit too long it can become a stringy mess so don't dawdle. Tape the entire panel for consistency. Felt squeegee of...
