  1. Cutting Sintra

At that point, I order them precut from Allied Plastics. You pay a bit more per piece than if you cut them yourself. But I'd rather save the time and have neat, clean edges.
  2. Logo Resolution Problems

Or they agree for you to print their logo from their Facebook page and it looks awful, but you still get paid for the sign.
  3. Need Help Round Column Banner Wrap

    Or zip ties
  4. Expert suggestion for Large Format

And here I am apparently doing something wrong. I've started my own print business as a side hustle (brokering for now until I build up some clientele and cash flow). I've legally been in business for a month now and had one small sale. Shouldn't I have people begging me to quit my fulltime job...
  5. Need help removing old vinyl

The images look like they're putting it in a normal power drill.
  6. Expert suggestion for Large Format

    And budget.
  7. Fluo yellow

Best you're probably going to get on a CMYK machine is to print pure yellow.
  8. Stripe Kit

Can't let them go stale, now can we?
  9. Suggestions Print Vinyl for Brick Walls

I had about a 10' x 15' textured interior wall application to do. My arms were aching by the end. And that wasn't nearly so difficult as brick & mortar.
  10. Wrap Hood W/ Clear for Protection

I've used the Oraguard 270 clear PPF, but only on flat surfaces. It goes on ok, but has to be a wet install if you want to avoid a cloudy texture underneath. Can't say much about wear and tear as I've never seen the product after install.
  11. Wrap Hood W/ Clear for Protection

If you're going to use PPF, then it really should go OVER the graphics, IMO. Every PPF that I've seen is calendered and would need to be replaced with the graphics anyway. It's not like the PPF would benefit the car when removing the cast vinyl wrap.
  12. Is there a problem getting vinyl to stick to real frosted glass?

I doubt it would be much better. Most rough surfaces I've seen overlaid with vinyl are larger bumps. I've been applying vinyl to powdercoated MDF desktops and it's hit and miss on those some days, and even then you have a sand-like texture. Sometimes the tops we get just don't have enough space...
  13. Need Help tax exemption responsibilities (TX)

I have my first order under my own business from a tax exempt organization. What are my responsibilities in processing and keeping records of this regarding the sales tax exemption? I'm not sure what I need to request from them, or what info I need to keep myself. I'm in Texas, so that's the...
  14. Who would have produced these for Trump??

I thought disliking Trump was a bipartisan position anyway. It's one way to bring the country together.
  15. Need Help By the hour or guesstimate with a quote

Definitely agree here. I've had what I thought would be easy removals turn into nightmares because someone used some cheap no-name-china-brand vinyl. And it's a bit of a selling point to say "I think it will take # hours which will cost $X. But if I get it done faster, you'll save money." Sure...
  16. I got nothin'

It looks like a font that was rasterized and then converted to outlines. Makes sense why you couldn't find a match.
  17. Grommet machine

Hiker is my personal preference. It seems sturdier and easier to handle.
  18. Roland Cutting Issues

Have you tried slowing down the cut speed?
  19. Need Help Vehicle Wraps

I'd add that it's also a matter of observational skill (what's the vinyl doing) and muscle memory (I've done this motion so many times I can practically do it in my sleep). And patience. I don't know how many people I've seen screw up laying down a plain rectangle because they had no patience...
  20. Service contract renewal-Yay or Nay?

For service contracts, I'm undecided for or against. I don't personally pay for the equipment I use, so I don't have a stake in it right now. But thinking about the stuff I do pay personally, like insurance, I usually ask myself three questions: 1) What's the worst that can happen, and do I...
