You have asked the million dollar question that has/has not ever been answered. Way too many variables to answer this question. Do you have a good test print (good place to start) if any nozzles are blocked you will never get a good print. I run a Valuejet 1604 so can maybe help. SC

Paper is a pain to print on a solvent printer. I have tried a couple of different brands all with similar results as you are getting. I would give the job to someone with a water based printer. SC

My sub tank valves stick on my VJ1604 but never when it is printing. It could maybe be a pump problem or more lightly a leak in the the pipework from the cartridge to the head or even more lightly a failed or leaking damper. SC
